(taken from the 'Incandescent' sleeve notes) There were and always will be three core members of the Wild Swans: Jeremy Kelly (guitar), Gerard Quinn (keyboards) and Paul Simpson (vocals). Paul had played keyboards in The Teardrop Explodes - and Ged had replaced him for a while. Jeremy was the youngest member and this was his first serious group.

The Nightingales

1) The Nightingales (now known as simply Nightingales) are a British post-punk/alternative band formed in November, 1979 in birmingham. 2) A Soul Group also known as Ollie & The Nightingales. 3) A finnish band. ----- 1) Original members were Robert Lloyd (vocals) and Joe Crow on guitar, both formerly of The Prefects, with Eamonn Duffy on bass and Paul Apperley on drums. The band, before splitting-up, played more sessions on John Peel's Radio 1 show than any other band, excluding The Fall.

Lone Ranger

Borrowing his stage name from the popular TV Western hero of the same name, the Lone Ranger was one of Jamaica's most influential early dancehall DJs. He helped pioneer a newly rhythmic, on-the-beat rhyming style that led DJ toasting into the modern age, and punctuated his lyrics with bizarre exclamations and sound effects ("bim" and "ribbit" were his favorites) that made him perhaps the most imaginative stylist of his time.

Gaunt

There are at least two artists by the name of Gaunt: 1) Gaunt was a garage punk band formed in Columbus, Ohio, in 1991. The original lineup formed from the ashes of the short-lived and punkadelic Black Juju, and consisted of guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Jerry Wick, bassist Eric Barth (who had also been in Two Hour Trip with the Spurgeon brothers, who would soon form Greenhorn) and drummer Jeff Regensburger (later of The Patsys).

The June Brides

The June Brides were an English pop music group, formed in London in 1983, by Phil Wilson and Simon Beesley of International Rescue. Influenced by Postcard-label bands such as Josef K and -era bands such as The Desperate Bicycles and The Television Personalities, their mix of guitar pop with viola and trumpet formed a blueprint for many of the bands that would follow. I, Ludicrous

I, Ludicrous is a two piece popular music ensemble formed in london in 1985 by John Procter (b. 1957) and David Rippingale ("Will Hung") (b. 1956). The band sprang to notoriety at the end of 1987 when their debut flexi release ('Preposterous Tales') reached Number 11 in John Peel's Festive Fifty. The Cravats

The Cravats were thrown together in 1977, the day after The Shend & Robin Dallaway had seen The Stranglers in Birmingham. Once back home in Redditch, tooled up with only a pair of bongo's and acoustic guitar, the boys got drunk and started work on The Cravats. After recruiting Martin Seys to play guitar, and Ethos Yapp to oblige on the drums the band took their set of songs into the studio to record a demo tape.

23 Skidoo

23 Skidoo cross , , , , and elements. The band had interests in martial arts, and drumming, Fela Kuti, The Last Poets, William S. Burroughs, as well as the emerging confluence of industrial music, and funk. 23 Skidoo was formed in North London, UK in 1979 as a post-punk trio. By 1980 they had grown into a quartet consisting of Fritz Catlin, Johnny Turnbull, Sam Mills and Patrick Griffiths.
