Clive Bell

Clive Bell is a musician and composer specialising in Far Eastern music. He studied the Shakuhachi (japanese bamboo flute) in Tokyo with the respected performer and composer Kohachiro Miyata, and the khene (Lao mouthorgan) in Laos and Thailand. He has composed music for theatre shows by Complicite, Kazuko Hohki, the Whalley Range All Stars and IOU Theatre, and for BBC radio plays by Louise Oliver and Pomme Clayton. He writes for The Wire magazine.

Martin Barre

As the lead guitarist for Jethro Tull, Martin Barre has been joined at the hip to Ian Anderson since 1969, when he replaced Mick Abrahams in the group's lineup. His playing has provided much of the energy that allows the band to soar on record and in concert amid the beauty of Anderson's melodies and the complexity of his lyrics, and played no small part in helping the veteran band (some would say "dinosaur") win the 1988 Grammy for Best Hard Rock Album for Crest of a Knave. Anderson himself has been quoted as saying, "Without Martin Barre, Jethro Tull could not exist."

Crazy Folk

Crazy Folk are a musically diverse 5 piece band from the North West, gate-crashing the folk scene with a lively blend of traditional Irish, drinking songs, 3 part harmony and instrumentals. All the members are professional musicians active in many genres of the music industry performing in Classical orchestras to Jazz and World music groups. They all share a passion for Folk and Celtic music and formed the Crazy Folk band in 2009 as an outlet for the music.

Master Margherita

Master Margherita is a musician based in Switzerland. Since 1988, he has been very active in the european music scene where his first steps were as a bass player in various Rock'n'Roll bands. But in 1994 he started composing tracks which mixed and matched live instruments with all sorts of electronic " devices ". This experimentation saw a change of musical direction for him into the world of " ambient " soundscapes. Since then his talent has been appreciated in many styles, from french text songs, to experimental techno, via ethnic grooves and reggae.

Michael McGoldrick

Michael McGoldrick (b. 1971, Manchester, England) is a flute and tin whistle player of great renown. He also plays the Uilleann pipes. He has been a member of several influential bands. In 1994 he was awarded the BBC Young Tradition Award, and, in 2001, he was given the Instrumentalist of the Year award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. McGoldrick was a founder-member of Celtic rock band, Toss the Feathers while still at school. He also competed in the Fleadhanna with Dezi Donnelly (fiddle) and John-Jo Kelly (bodhrán) whom he had met at local Comhaltas meetings.

Jonas Simonson

Musician since many years in the border field between Nordic roots and other awesome music. Jonas Simonson plays like no other flutist, with his own characteristic sting and intensity of sound and rhythm. In addition to the ordinary flute, he alternates with various overtone flutes and wooden flutes, as well as performing on the bass clarinet. Jonas performs with the legendary folk-fusion ensemble Groupa and Den Fule. He has previously performed with Bäsk, Kapell Frisell and the Vocal Ensemble Amanda.
