There are multiple artists under this name: 1) U.K. were a short-lived British progressive rock supergroup active from 1977 through 1980. In September 1976, singer/bassist John Wetton formerly of the British Psychedelic band Family (with Roger Chapman and Rick Grech) and drummer Bill Bruford, both alumni of King Crimson, worked on forming a band with Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman. The project was stopped by Wakeman's label. According to Bruford, "A&M Records were unwilling to let their 'star,' Wakeman, walk off with a used, slightly soiled King Crimson rhythm section, and the idea failed."

The Tangent

The Tangent began in 2002 as a project to record some compositions of the band's primary writer, Andy Tillison, with several members of The Flower Kings (Roine Stolt, Zoltan Csörsz, and Jonas Reingold), David Jackson and some of Andy's friends (Sam Baine, Guy Manning). During that first recording (which was going to become The Music That Died Alone), many of the musicians never met in person. After some critical acclaim, another album was recorded (The World That We Drive Through).

Short-lived progressive rock band of 1974, with Patrick Moraz (keyboards) (ex-Mainhorse), Lee Jackson (bass/vocals) and Brian Davison (drums) (ex-The Nice). They released one self-titled album in 1974 and made a small tour. Moraz soon ended the band to join Yes.

These groups were composed of different members and with different « sounds » (classic rock, grunge, etc.). These formations have permitted them to gain a lot of stage experience.
Brotherly reunion When in 1995 they lost their drummer, Denis proposed to invite Yves who had been playing for the last five or six years. Together they realized that playing covers of other artist work wasn’t satisfying them, it had become necessary to create their own music.
