London Sinfonietta

The London Sinfonietta is a British chamber orchestra based in London that specializes in the performance of contemporary classical music. Nicholas Snowman and David Atherton co-founded the orchestra in 1968. Atherton was its first Music Director, from 1968-1973. Michael Vyner served as the Artistic Director from 1972-1989. Paul Crossley took over and served from 1988-1994. Markus Stenz served as Music Director from 1994-1998.

John McCabe

John McCabe CBE (born 21 April 1939, Huyton, Merseyside) is an English composer and pianist. A prolific composer from an early age, John McCabe had written thirteen symphonies by the time he was eleven. After studies in Manchester and Munich he embarked upon a career as a composer and virtuoso pianist (he still tours internationally as a recitalist). He has worked in almost every genre, though large-scale forms lie at the heart of his catalogue with five symphonies, fifteen concertante works and eight ballet scores to his name.

Elohymn

Elohymn originate from a small town in northwest England (Chorley). After a year of member alterations, travelling and other excursions settled as a three piece in late 2005. Cryptic meanings and unusual fusion of style keep Elohymn amused in the laboratory. Review: "Elohymn introduce themselves with some cryptic recorded dialogue, progressively mutated until indistinguishable. There’s a yell from the lead guitarist that spoils the atmosphere a bit, but forget about that.

Band formed in 1978, for four years of organised chaos..determined not to 'sell out', have fun and 'blow every other band that came into contact with them...off!!..either with good tunes...attitude or shaving foam on paper plates with 100's and 1000's sprinkled on top and used as a precursor to tiswas as custard pies (quentin turmite et al 1977).Tubby Pickles was soon on the scene as manager. teenagers with bad breath and no attitude. leaving a right mess everywhere they went. left the wenches to tidy up afterwards (sheep face 1972) great tunes on the crest of a massive punky wave.

Tracey Thorn

Tracey Thorn (born September 26, 1962, in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire) is an English pop singer and songwriter. She is best known as being one half of the duo Everything But the Girl. She grew up in Hatfield, Hertfordshire and studied English at the University of Hull, where she graduated in 1984 with First Class Honours. She lives with her EBTG partner Ben Watt in North London. The couple have twin daughters born in 1998, and a son born in 2001.

Jeremiah Clarke

Jeremiah Clarke (c. 1674-1st December 1707) was an English baroque composer. Thought to have been born in London in 1674, Clarke was a pupil of John Blow at St Paul's Cathedral. He later became organist at the Chapel Royal. "A violent and hopeless passion for a very beautiful lady of a rank superior to his own" caused him to commit suicide by shooting himself. He was succeeded in his post by William Croft.
