Velveteen

There are 5 bands with the name Velveteen 1: A band from London formed in 2012 combining post-punk, surf and shoegaze sensibilities. Sun-kissed music and melody. Velveteen released their debut 'Wasteland EP' towards the end of 2012. 2: A four piece indie rock band from /Germany. In April 2008, the band's album Home Waters was used as an april's fools joke by the manager of Moving Mountains, telling it's a leaked version of Death Cab for Cutie's new album, Narrow Stairs. The joke was pretty much successful due to the band's similar sound.

Eva

There are currently four known bands and artists named Eva; (1) Eva's debut came in 2001 when Moni and September recorded their version of "Plastic Passion" appeared on "Prayers For Disintegration", a polish tribute to The Cure by Black Flames Records. In 2002 Moni formally set up the band EVA with September (bass, programming) and Azyl (guitar) and recorded a 7 songs demo (in 2004 added another 2 songs). EVA's style is strongly influenced by early eighties coldwave.

Project:KOMAKINO

Born out of the dark thoughts of a world that could have been... PROJECT:KOMAKINO began as the solo music project of Kris Kane in March 2007. The project follows a simple manifesto, purely; “To Konstrukt” PROJECT:KOMAKINO was unveiled at the now legendary Experimental Circle Club in April 2007 and was received with high acclaim. Kris went on to play a number of gigs with the like minded up and coming of the time, such as Ipso Facto, Electricity In Our Homes and Ulterior.

Sixth Comm

Sixth Comm was founded in 1986 by Patrick Leagas, former, drummer and vocalist in the first incarnation of Death in June. The early Sixth Comm releases present a mix of melancholic synth pop, ritual sounds and experiments, as well as several reworkings of songs which Leagas had written for Death in June. Sixth Comm's imagery is heavily influenced by Norse mythology and magic. The band had sometimes the collaboration of appreciated pagan scholar and writer Freya Aswynn. Later on Leagas met dancer/singer Amodali and they started to collaborate under the name of Mother Destruction.

Led Er Est

Led Er Est emerged from a series of jam sessions that core members Shawn O’Sullivan and Sam De La Rosa started having in early 2007, using bass guitar, some cheap drum machines, and synths. They were inspired to record music largely by ’70s synth prog, and ’80s lo-fi electronic and industrial music. They recorded a number of songs at friend Will Burnett’s studio that fall. Their first officially released track was on the Wierd Records compilation, Analogue Electronic Music Vol II. Owen Hutchinson joined the band for their first live show at the Wierd party that December.

Oppenheimer Analysis

andy oppenheimer and Martin Lloyd met at the 1979 World Science Fiction Convention in Brighton, England. They quickly became good friends, sharing an interest in the work of David Bowie, electronic music and early synthesizer bands such as the Human League and Soft Cell. They also shared a love of old science fiction movies, 1950s graphics and comic book imagery and a fascination with post-World War II propaganda, the politics and aesthetics of the Cold War, and the social impact of the atomic bomb.
