Metal Rouge is a duo unit, originally formed in New Zealand between Andrew Scott and Helga Fassonaki, now residing in the sea between--concerned primarily with pure thoughtless formless now and its expression through sound.
Julia Shammas Holter is a classically-trained keytarist from Echo Park. After infiltrating Human Ear Music headquarters dressed as an intern, she wrote and recorded her own release on the label. Her music is witty, surreal and optimistic. She plays without sarcasm in the terrains that divide sentimentality, passion, and control. Her songs are written instinctively, and treated with an off-kilter fastidiousness, working orchestral variety from minimal instrumentation.
Ov marks the first duo recording collaboration between longtime collaborators and partners Christine Boepple (Whysp, Softwar, The Franciscan Hobbies, The Skygreen Leopards Skyband, Kyrgyz, etc) and Jewelled Antler's Loren Chasse (Of, Thuja, The Child Readers, The Franciscan Hobbies, Softwar, The Blithe Sons, Coelacanth, etc), both of San Francisco. Building off of Chasse’s recent solo recordings as Of, the duo’s Ov project features loop-based compositions that incorporate strummed strings and otherworldly sounds.
'Oft have I journeyed the deep hidden passage,
looked on the Light that is Life among men.
There 'neath the flowers of Life ever living,
searched I the hearts and the secrets of men.
Found I that man is but living in darkness,
light of the great fire is hidden within.' Deep Magic is the solo project of Alex Gray, who currently plays in tropical-psych jam team Sun Araw and has also contributed to works by Pocahaunted and Black Eagle Child.

Based in Nottingham, United Kingdom, Gareth Hardwick creates music that is at once rich and minimalist, dense and subtle. By manipulating the natural tones of his guitar with effects and loops he can deform and reshape the sounds generated by his instrument until you're no longer sure what you're hearing - an organ, a voice, or no recognisable instrument. Between abstract sounds, fragile and delicate melodies reveal themselves to you; finding yourself lost in intricate textures you are suddenly awoken by an absence of structure or sound, of something that one can hold on to.

Blank Realm is a rock band out of Brisbane. They “create a levitating atmosphere built on improvisations that focus sharp into excellent, tuneful songs (Brian Turner – WFMU)”.
