The Chairmen are an energetic 5 piece hailing from the depths of the East Midlands. Leicester to be accurate. The band have built themselves a reputation as a great live band and have become one of the top acts to go and see in the city. Rook and The Ravens

"Hailing from the hills on the east side of town, the band are loosely part of the recent wave of tuneful Americana-flavoured indie that's been lapping around the fringes of Manchester for a while now and with their debut album almost ready to go, things are indeed looking bright. They sound like a ride in an open-top car on a sunny day, which is not a concept generally associated with Glossop. There's no hidden agenda, no tricks, it's all about the tunes.

Love Ends Disaster!

Love Ends Disaster! are an indie rock band heralding from Nottingham, UK, made up of Suffolk-raised brothers Matt and Jon Dix, singer Matthew Oakes, Fine Artist Robert Sadler, and drummer Mark Thorley.
On the basis of their first demo, Volume I, recorded in 2003 and combining the Post-Rock of Mogwai, Talking Heads-inspired rythmns and cutting, spikey guitars reminiscent of Johnny Greenwood and Graham Coxon, the band were snapped up by High Wycombe's Denial Records, responsible for recording the first studio outing of Bloc Party ("Storm & Stress") in 2003.

Powerplant

There are three artists with the name "Powerplant"/"PowerPlant" 1. Vancouver Canada residents John Morgan and Kiki Stewardson have been producing electronic music together since 1999 with success on Bill’s Hamel’s Teknology and Sunkissed labels, and now with Release Records. John’s electronic music background goes far back to the days of acid house in the late 80’s, pioneering live PA and techno on Canada’s West Coast. Kiki’s passion and knowledge of music has helped define a sound that Powerplant are starting to become known for – deep and solid progressive with a good techy edge.

Although inspired by great songwriters such as Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, Andy's style retains a unique sound, with each song sounding different from the last. His music reveals sensitivity and observation beyond his years, with poetic lyrics inspiring strong emotions. Andy's major strength lies in his live performances, which demonstrate an honesty and charisma that is truly mesmerising.

Inspired by his fathers love of Dylan, Springsteen, Lou Reed, Cat Stevens, Paul Weller, and also later captivated by Oasis, Jersey picked up a guitar as a teenager and taught himself to play. The result is a collection of classically crafted songs, shaped by his peers, yet effortlessly his own; his unique voice, soul, and talent for a melody having led to Jersey being tipped as one to watch after only a handful of gigs, albeit supporting Kasabian, The Enemy, The Rifles and Hard Fi.
