Killing Fields Of Ontario

A man once said, "music is the food of love". Stuart and Tom like music, food, and love, and have attempted to express this through the medium of song. In January 2008, after much dawdling, pissing about, and periods of unemployment, they went into the studio with two other real life people. They are called Jim and Dave. The recording went splendidly and a band/fellowship was formed. Since joining Myspace, Tom and Stu have started to write in the third person, which appears to be the norm, but sounds stupid.

The Lazy Darlings

The Lazy Darlings are a loose collective of leeds musicians based around the songs of lead singer, Dave James. Their narcotic country pop comes from the combination of players involved. Dave previously fronted the ragged country rock and roll band Cardboard Cowboy. Tim Hann of panoramic shoegaze-americana heroes I Concur plays lead guitar and does some singing. Tim Corbridge plays the lapsteel and plays with several bands including The Lodger and Ali Whitton & The Broke Record Players.

Alt Track

Alt Track are an electronica/punk/breakbeat duo from Bradford who bring together an organic combination of floor-shaking beats and samples, as well as searing live electric guitar, keyboards and vocals. Micky Dey and Pete Williams, both 19, played in punk and indie bands around Bradford since they were 11 - bands well respected despite their young age, and sharing a scene with Bradford’s biggest alternative export of the moment, Random Hand.

The Humour

Hailing from Wakefield, The Humour are all just 20 years old, though they’re already making it out of their home town in a very big way. Indeed, their reputation of being the UK’s next big rock band is spreading throughout the country. Sell out shows in the larger room at the Leeds Cockpit are hard enough for big-name, major-label bands with huge marketing budgets to achieve. But for The Humour, it’s standard stuff.

The Rosie Taylor Project

The Rosie Taylor Project are a Leeds, United Kingdom based 6-piece who inhabit a world seen through the windows of cafes and from the corners of Charles Roka gypsy paintings. Think heartfelt, observational songs of love and loss built around beautiful melodies and infectious hooks. Their sound evokes the gentle qualities of Camera Obscura, Iron & Wine and Nick Drake, but it’s their delicate simplicity and self understanding which stands out and connects to the listener.

fran rodgers

Born in 1982 to an English father and a French mother, Fran Rodgers was raised with her twin sister in an old mining town in Nottinghamshire. Hours spent listening to her parents records inspired a love of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and, later, the likes of Nick Drake, Nick Cave and Jeff Buckley. Following a move to Leeds in 2000 Fran discovered a passion for singing and, self-taught on the guitar, she began to write. Like many of her influences she performs alone, transporting the listener into the fragile world she paints of love, loss and hope.
