Blending lyrical folk with hints of swing and blues, Elbury work to bring thought-provoking songs to an audience who are appreciative of strong melodies and warm guitar arrangements. Since their early writing sessions, Edward and Michael have drawn on their diverse musical interests to create an aural experience which has been praised by folk, blues and indie fans alike. In 2011, Elbury saw that it was time to expand their sound and started the search for a bass player. After a quick audition process, Edward and Michael quickly settled on the talents and low grooves of Tom Beith.

Annie Ross

Annie Ross (born 1930) is a jazz singer and actress, best known as a member of the trio Lambert, Hendricks & Ross.
Ross is one of the early practitioners of a singing style known as vocalese, which involves the setting of original lyrics to an instrumental jazz solo. Her 1952 treatment of saxophonist Wardell Gray's "Twisted" is a classic example of vocalese. "Twisted" is perhaps her most famous song.

The BBC Big Band

The BBC Big Band, originally known as the BBC Radio Big Band is a British big band run under the auspices of the BBC. It consists of professional jazz musicians and is directed by arranger and composer Barry Forgie, who has been conducting the band on a regular basis since 1977. The band is also directed by a series of guest conductors, most notably American jazz trombonist Jiggs Whigham. Widely regarded as the UK’s leading and most versatile jazz orchestra, the band broadcasts on BBC Radio, particularly on BBC Radio 2's long running series Big Band Special.

Cassandra Wilson

Cassandra Wilson (born 4th December 1955) is a U.S. ist and two-time Grammy Award winner from Jackson, Mississippi. Two of her albums, Blue Skies (1988) and New Moon Daughter (1996), have topped the US jazz charts, and the latter also won her a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance in 1997. More recently, Wilson's latest album Loverly (2008) also won the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album at the 51st Grammy Awards in 2009.
