Glossary

The phrase “Long Live All of Us” is the title of Glossary’s seventh full-length album, but it’s also meant as an all-inclusive homage to humanity. Frontman Joey Kneiser says, in light of all the bad things happening in the world, the band just wanted to make a positive record. Long Live All of Us allowed the band from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to take their influences farther than ever before, adding piano, haunting pedal steel, R&B-influenced horns and more to their own style of romanticized rock & roll.

The Whitlams

The Whitlams are an Australian four-piece band hailing from Newtown, New South Wales. Formed in 1992, the band originally comprised Tim Freedman (lead vocals, piano), Stevie Plunder (lead vocals, guitar) and Andy Lewis (double bass, backing vocals). The line-up has changed many times over the years with Tim the only consistent member of the band, not to mention the only original member still alive. In the current line-up Terepai Richmond hits the drums, Warwick Hornsby plays the bass, and Jak Housden steals the scene on the electric guitar alongside the ever-present Tim Freedman.

Forming in Brisbane in 2003, The Gin Club casually coagulated around a regular open mic night held in a Brisbane pub. Originally based on a fairly elastic lineup, the band has stabilized but it is still a large ensemble with seven songwriters. Winning one day of recording time through a cancer fundraiser at Brisbane club The Troubadour enabled The Gin Club to record their first album. There are at least three bands that are named Cog. One from Australia, one from the Philippines, and one from Croatia. 1)
Cog was a rock band from Sydney, New South Wales. Cog consisted of members Flynn Gower (lead guitar, lead vocals), Lucius Borich (drums, samples, backing vocals) and Luke Gower (bass guitar and backing vocals), who had been a band since 1998. Flynn Gower and Lucius Borich (the son of renowned Australian blues guitarist Kevin Borich) were friends at their Bondi high school in the 1980s.

Weddings Parties Anything

Weddings Parties Anything, often known as WPA and Weddoes, is an Australian folk rock band formed by Mick Thomas in Melbourne in 1985 and continuing until 1998. Their name came from a Clash song ("Revolution Rock") and musicologist Billy Pinnell described their first album as the best Australian rock debut since Skyhooks' Living in the '70s. WPA initially gained a reputation as a hot new band through their constant touring in their early days, however they never really became a commercial success.
