Henry Grimes (born November 3, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a jazz double bassist, violinist, and poet, He has played more than 360 concerts in 24 countries (including many festivals) since May of 2003, when he made his astonishing return to the music world after 35 years away. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended the Mastbaum School and Juilliard.
