In summer 2007, UK underground punk favorites THE FILAMENTS reformed to record an album expressing their love of 2-tone era ska and heavy dub reggae. Joined by dancehall sensation MAJAH TUNDER and one-luv gangsta folk pioneer BABAR LUCK, the result was an exciting clash of sounds filling the gap between the Specials and Rancid, Symarip and The Clash. That sound is the BABYLON WHACKERS. With its positive message of love, hope and unification, debut album ‘Happy Days With….’ maintains an energetic old-school sound that has had people talking all across Europe.
The Toasters came out of the lower east side of Manhattan, NYC in 1981 . The Skarsoles are a ska rock band formed in Greenock, Scotland in 1999. The current lineup consists of Chris Rossi (vocals), Jim Lochlan (bass & vocals), Iain MacDuff (guitar & vocals), Denis McClafferty (guitar), Kenny Linn (drums), Graeme Gray (trumpet & keys) and Will Kerr (trombone). Many previous members have been left out of this list. In the past the Skarsoles have been known for their energetic gigs and entertaining banter.
With an up tempo two-toned Ska-popunkish attack, Smoke like a Fish from Mid Wales relentlessly pump the off beat with groove and aggression, behind brass splattered riffs, catchy choruses and social comment. After 2 EPs on our own Kippertronix label and a few appearances on various compilations, we sign to `Do the Dog` and release the self-titled debut album in April 2002. That is then followed by the `Survival of the Hipest` album February 2004. And last year, April 2005 an early years, demos, re-mixes and rarities album `Heres one we made earlier` was released.
