Georg Friedrich Haas (August 16, 1953 in Graz) is an Austrian composer of spectral music. Haas' style recalls that of György Ligeti in its use of micropolyphony, microintervals and exploitation of the overtone series. He is a founding member of the Graz composers' collective Die andere Seite. He lives in Vienna and composes in a cottage in Fischbach, Styria.
Toshio Hosokawa (細川俊夫) was born on October 23, 1955 in Hiroshima. He went to West Berlin to study composition with Isang Yun at the Hochschule der Künste in 1976. From 1983 to 1986, he studied with Klaus Huber at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg. In 1980, he participated for the first time in the Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt, where his work was performed.
Tim Hodgkinson (born 1 May 1949) is an English experimental music composer and performer, principally on reeds and keyboards. He is best known as one of the core members of the British avant-garde rock group Henry Cow, which he formed with Fred Frith in 1968. After the demise of Henry Cow, he participated in a number of bands and projects, including a solo recording career.
He graduated in social anthropology at Cambridge University in 1971 but chose to pursue a musical career instead.
Jonathan Harvey (born 3 May 1939 in Sutton Coldfield) is a British composer. He studied with Erwin Stein and Hans Keller at St John's College, Cambridge, eventually obtaining a PhD. Early musical influences included Schoenberg, Berg, Messiaen and Britten. While undertaking postgraduate study at Glasgow University, Harvey was a 'cellist in the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Around this time, he became interested in the music of Karlheinz Stockhausen. In 1969 he took up a Harkness Fellowship at Princeton University, where he encountered Milton Babbitt, another strong influence on his music.

Iancu Dumitrescu (born July 15, 1944 in Sibiu, Romania) is a Romanian avant-garde composer. Dumitrescu received a master's degree in composition in Bucharest; Alfred Mendelsohn was among his teachers. Later, he studied conducting and philosophy with Sergiu Celibidache; Celibidache led Dumitrescu to an engagement with the philosophy of Edmund Husserl and an effort to apply the principles of phenomenology to music.
