Naked City

Naked City was an music group from New York City, New York, United States led by and John Zorn, performed from 1988 to 1993. The ensemble was notable for remaining unconfined to any musical category, juxtaposing unrelated styles of music often within individual compositions at breakneck speed. Its music incorporated recognizable elements of , , , , , , and other genres. Carl Stalling has been cited as an influence on Zorn and the work of Naked City.

Jean Louis is a notable three-piece jazzcore / free jazz band from Paris, France formed in 2006. A groove thrown out of gear with compact and distorted sound. Jean Louis nourishes himself of wood, metal and electric cables. Agitates his members and cuts out sections of music to the basement. Now MEATFEAST (www.myspace.com/meatfeastrock) Originally formed in 2005 by Dr. Guitarbett and uITgs thetroll, JTA has been in its current formation since around August 2006. After finding screamer Splakoph, and trying out a series of bass and sax players, the band eventually gelled by calling on a selection of old friends in the forms of Scrote (better known as VJ phluxm), Walt D Factotum (sometime film maker) and pianist Anna Krusis. More recently Ms Emmy Tone joined to complete the line-up.

Nomeansno is a punk band originally from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and now located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The band have never had, or have ever seemed to pursue, strong mainstream success, but they do have a devoted underground following in North America and Europe. They tour fairly often on both continents and maintain a dedicated fan base. The band was formed in 1979 by brothers Rob Wright (bass guitar and vocals) and John Wright (drum set, keyboards and vocals). Their name derives from an anti-date rape slogan.
