The Downliners Sect
The Downliners Sect was a British rhythm and blues band of the beat boom era, formed in 1963 when the existing Downliners band split up. Stylistically, they were similar to The Yardbirds, The Pretty Things and the Rolling Stones, playing basic R & B on their first album "The Sect". They subsequently modified their musical style, and after an EP of 'sick' songs (eg 'I want my Baby Back') they experimented with both country ("The Country Sect") and rock ("Rock Sect's In").

Gloria Jones
Gloria Jones (born 19 October 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American singer. She first recorded the 1964 northern soul classic Tainted Love, later a hit for the British synth-pop duo Soft Cell in 1981. Gloria Jones was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 7, where she first started singing. Gloria's first taste of fame came at the age of 14, when, while still at school, she formed with Frankie Kahrl and Billy Preston the successful gospel group the Cogic Singers.

The Merseybeats
Originally called The Mavericks, Tony Crane (born Anthony Crane, 17 April 1945, in Anfield, Liverpool) and Billy Kinsley (born William Ellis Kinsley, 28 November 1946, at The Mill Road Hospital, Mill Road, Anfield, Liverpool) formed their first band in late 1960 and became The Pacifics in September 1961. They were re-named The Mersey Beats in February 1962 by Bob Wooler, MC of the famous Cavern Club. Later in April 1962 they became The Merseybeats. By now Crane and Kinsley had joined up with guitarist Aaron Williams (born 23 June 1942, in Liverpool) and drummer John Banks.

The Fireballs
The group was christened the FIREBALLS® after their standing ovation performance of "Great Balls of Fire" at the Raton High School PTA talent contest in New Mexico, USA...January 1958. By the year's end they had auditioned for the late Norman Petty at his already internationally famous recording studio at 1313 W. 7th Street, Clovis, New Mexico, where it stands today - a monumental contribution to the birth of early Southwest style Rock & Roll.

Kazuki Tomokawa
Tenji Nozoki (????) (born February 16, 1950), best known by the stage name Kazuki Tomokawa (?? ???), is a prolific Japanese musician, active in the Japanese music scene since the early seventies. He is often described as a "screaming philosopher". Multi-talented Kazuki Tomokawa (?????, singer, author, actor, painter, raconteur) remains curiously unappreciated in the West, in spite of creating some of the most consistently inspired, emotionally resonant outsider folk music of recent years.

Moon Music Orchestra
Multi front-men, Multi-coloured A couple of rooms above a little pub in Borough are the MMO HQ. Something of an east-end Big Pink, The Gladstone is where the Moon Music Orchestra has gone from loose-knit collective to folk-rock force. Feet firmly on the ground, the band run the pub and practice above it. The walls upstairs are lined with banjos, guitars and mandolins while a well-worn tape-machine resides on the coffee-table, ready to roll.

Cat's Eyes
Faris Badwan, frontman for UK indie rockers The Horrors, has a new project: Cat's Eyes, a duo with the Canadian opera soprano and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Zeffira. The group specializes in a glassy, symphonic take on girl-group pop, and they played their first show in December in a pretty unusual place: St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican, during an afternoon mass "attended by seven high-ranking cardinals," according to a press release. Emperors
Emperors is rock band from Perth, Australia. Starting out in 2009 as a studio project, Adam Livingston and Greg Sanders had the common goal of writing catchy, loud pop music without any trace of cynicism or pretension. The songs combine rich melodies, anthemic vocals and abrasive guitars, entrenched in 90’s indie rock and 80’s punk, but with a much wider variety of influences. What began as an inebriated, weekly ritual in a North Perth apartment developed over the next year until it became a poorly rehearsed but passionate rock 'n' roll machine.
