Judy Dyble

Judy Aileen Dyble (born 13 February 1949 in London) is a British singer, best known as the original vocalist with Fairport Convention from 1967 to 1968. The group recorded their first album with her, their repertoire at the time consisting largely of American singer-songwriter works plus a few originals. After Dyble's departure Fairport recruited Sandy Denny as her replacement and turned toward the folk-influenced rock for which they became better known.

Georgie Fame

Georgie Fame (b. June 26, 1943) is a British rhythm and blues and jazz singer and keyboard player whose real name is Clive Powell. Fame was born in Leigh in Lancashire. At sixteen years of age he entered into a management agreement with Larry Parnes, who gave artists new names such as Marty Wilde and Billy Fury. Fame was already playing piano for Billy Fury in a backing band called The Blue Flames, which later became billed as "Georgie Fame and The Blue Flames".

Bob Marley & The Wailers

Bob Marley & the Wailers was a reggae band created in 1974 by Bob Marley, after Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer left the precursor band, The Wailers. Bob Marley & The Wailers formed in Kingston, Jamaica and consisted of Bob Marley himself as guitarist, song writer and lead singer, Wailers Band as the backing band and the I Threes as backup vocalists. The band included the brothers Carlton Barrett and Aston "family Man" Barrett on drums and bass respectively, Junior Marvin and Al Anderson on lead guitar, Tyrone Downie and Earl "Wire" Lindo on keyboards, and Alvin "Seeco" Patterson on percussion.

The Marksmen

Bluegrass-punk band formed in Preston in 2006 by Dan Jeoffroy, Chris Nicholls, David James Wilson and multiple drummers. There is clearly another Marksmen and some confusion on this page. To avoid said confusion, songs such as Candy Cain and Moonshine are not by us. Songs such as Eldon Street and Blue Touch Paper are.

Bernard Haitink

Bernard Johan Herman Haitink, CH, KBE (born 4 March 1929) is a Dutch conductor and violinist. Haitink was born in Amsterdam, the son of Willem Haitink and Anna Haitink. He studied music at the conservatoire in Amsterdam. He played the violin in orchestras before taking courses in conducting under Ferdinand Leitner in 1954 and 1955. Haitink became second conductor of the Netherlands Radio Union Orchestra in 1955.

The Fugs

The Fugs were a band formed in New York City in 1965 by Ed Sanders and Tuli Kupferberg, with Ken Weaver on drums. Later that year they were joined by Peter Stampfel and Steve Weber of the Holy Modal Rounders. The band was named by Kupferberg who borrowed it from the euphemistic substitute for the word "fuck" famously used in Norman Mailer's novel, The Naked and the Dead. Incidentally, the band is featured in a chapter of Mailer's book, Armies of the Night as they play at the 1967 march on the Pentagon in protest of the Vietnam War (with Scott Rashap on upright bass).

Iggy Pop

Iggy Pop (born James Newell Osterberg, Jr.; April 21, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. Though widely known as an innovator and "godfather" of punk rock, Pop's music has encompassed a number of styles over the years, including pop, hard rock, jazz and blues. Pop became known as 'Iggy' in high school, during which time he served as drummer for local blues band The Iguanas.

The Castaways

The Castaways were an American garage rock band from The Twin Cities in Minnesota. Their first and only hit single, Liar Liar, written by band leader James Donna, reached number 12 in 1965. 'Liar Liar' is featured in the films 'Good Morning Vietnam' and 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. The original members were James Donna on keyboard, Robert Folschow on guitar, Roy Hensley on bass and Dennis Craswell on drums. Folschow contributed the distinctive falsetto vocal on "Liar Liar."
