Copacabana Club is an indie dance-rock band from Curitiba, Brazil, started by three guys (Rafa, Tile, and Alec) and two chicks (Caca and Claudia) in 2007. The band blends indie rock with a twist of Brazilian music, crafting catchy melodies. All their songs are in English. Band members: Alec Ventura: vocals / guitars / synths

The group was created by producer Frank Farian in 1975 and was composed of four West Indian artists working in London, Germany and the Netherlands: singers Marcia Barrett and Liz Mitchell, model Maizie Williams and DJ Bobby Farrell. Boney M is noted for the mix of white and black music—the producer Farian is white and the singers are black; significantly many songs are black (freedom) songs, for example “No More Chain Gang” in the album Oceans Of Fantasy.

There are several bands with this name. One of them is a Dutch band that existed briefly during the early/mid 1990s and self-released one album “Start Up: Magna Interruption” (1996). The band is sometimes referred to as “Coleco & Friends” as Coleco is also the stage name of the band’s main member (coleco). The band described its music as “Lo-Fi Techno” or “Guitar Music Without Guitars”. Although the quality of the musicians may be disputed, they have been innovative and foreshadowed a wider movements of indietronica and folktronica.

Though they have been playing for years, their first gig happened in April 2009, opening for Bigbang, followed by a second gig at the Garage in Oslo, to promote their EP.
The musicians have experience working in some of the following bands: Gorgoroth, Trelldom, Animal Alpha, Elvin Friendly, Emmerhoff and The Melancholy Babies, Bookhouse, The Margarets and The Disciplines.
