An experimental dark metal/shoegaze project formed in late 2009. The musical style comprises of elements of doom metal, post-rock, shoegaze, black metal and progressive music amalgamated to create a unique, dark, droning and melancholic sound. The lyrics express intense themes of personal struggles, self destruction, sorrow and inner pain & suffering. Nazxul

Nazxul is a band from Sydney, Australia. The group was formed in 1993 by guitarist Adrian Henderson, keyboards player/guitarist Lachlan Mitchell, former Mortal Sin and Slaughter Lord drummer Steve Hughes and Dalibor Backovic on vocals and bass. A demo appeared the following year and with the addition of guitarist Greg Morelli from Sydney thrash band Grungeon. Nazxul began work on an album called Totem that was released in 1996. Originally envisioned as a mysterious studio-bound project, the group only appeared in publicity photos as shadowy figures or draped facelessly in cloaks.

Sleepwalker

There are different artists using the name 'Sleepwalker': 1) Atmospheric Black Metal/Post-Rock. Very little is known about this band, but it is the solo project of the drummer of Fell Voices and has two CD-R demos, each with three untitled tracks. Sleepwalker is working on new material as of May 15th, 2011, and the first demo was remastered and re-released on LP by Vedavu in 2012 (this time with song titles: "Born of Dream", "Sleepwalker", and "Ecstatic Unknown").

Deafheaven

Based out of San Francisco, CA, Deafheaven started as an isolated project between frontman George LeSage and guitarist Kerry M. After sending the demo to various blogs and receiving overwhelmingly positive reception, they accepted offers to play live shows and added members of Whirl and Temple Of Saturn to form the quintet that today tours as Deafheaven. On July 29th, 2010, Deafheaven played their first show, marking the unofficial genesis of their rise to bay area prominence.

They made two highly influential demos in the early 90's, Grymyrk and Trøndertun, but have only released one full-length album, since the band was founded, in 1989.
