Immortal

Immortal is a prominent black metal band from Bergen, Norway. The group began in 1989 as "Amputation", a death metal band. Immortal's early full-length releases were of a traditional, yet complex black metal style, but their acclaimed album At the Heart of Winter saw the band begin to experiment with a fusion of black metal and German thrash. The resulting sound was a style which characterized Immortal's later works. Immortal has been influential to many modern metal artists. Immortal's founders; Abbath and Demonaz, have attained a legendary status in the Scandinavian heavy metal scene.

Demonic Resurrection

Right from its inception in early 2000, Demonic Resurrection has been raising eyebrows. Even with its unstable lineup 'till 2003 the band released its debut album just 9 months after forming. While the album was amateurish it was the 1st for an Indian Metal band to independently release a CD. The album however did receive some praise from the local fans in the Mumbai scene as well as few small underground zines and distro's after it was re-recorded and released in 2001 with Demonstealer on vocals/guitars, Nikita on vocals/keys, Aditya aka Count Varathora on Bass and Yash on Drums.

They soon made some four track demos.

Svartsot

Since 2005, SVARTSOT has conveyed their distinctive blend of metal and folk music with a hint of the medieval age. Besides crushing guitars, bass and drums, the music is flavoured with the tones of authentic folk instruments such as whistles, mandolins and bagpipes adding the ruthless medieval feel, and melodies that only a lobotomy can remove from the head. Inspiration for SVARTSOT’s lyrics is found in the wealth of Danish folklore and history, and the merciless growled vocals of Thor (yes that is his real name!) are therefore entirely delivered in Danish.

Abigail Williams

The group’s second full album, "In The Absence of Light", taps into the spirit of the band’s chosen style but injects it with intricate touches of classic and thrash metal. Raw, but clear production and a venomous zeal, it is as infectious as it is lethal.

“The whole record is pretty bleak and depicts a world completely void of light,” says frontman Sorceron. “And I think it’s just a product of the environment we live in and a reflection of the way I see humanity heading.”
