2012: Never Forgive The first four albums follow a story, so it is rather a concept album Collection. Love, life, faith, and death. Their newest album as of 2012, Never Forgive, has a full sound ranging from clean vocals to harsh vocals. The guitar is thick as well as harmonious.
Turisas is a Finnish folk metal band from Hämeenlinna. They were founded in 1997 by Mathias Nygård and Jussi Wickström and named after an ancient Finnish god of war. Turisas combine elements of folk metal and power metal, with perhaps some influences of symphonic metal as well. The album title Battle Metal has given rise to the term "battle metal" being used as a description of folk metal (as stated by Metal Hammer magazine) but it may not be a canonical metal subgenre.
1. Equilibrium is a Folk metal band from Munich, Germany, founded in 2001. They released a very positively acclaimed demo at the beginning of 2003, which brought them a record deal with the label Black Attakk. Their debut, Turis Fratyr, was released on February 15, 2005. In October 2006 they signed with Nuclear Blast. They recorded their new album 'Sagas' in January 2007. The album was made available worldwide on July 8, 2008.
Daemonia Nymphe (Δαιμόνια Νύμφη) is a greek folk band established in Athens in 1994 by Spyros Giasafaki and Evi Stergiou. The band's music is modeled after ancient greek music and is often categorized as ethereal, neoclassical, neofolk or gothic.
Daemonia Nymphe uses authentic instruments, including lyra, varvitos, krotala, pandoura and double flute, which are made by the Greek master Nicholas Brass. Their shows are very theatrical, with members wearing masks and ancient dress. Their lyrics are drawn from Orphic and Omeric hymns and Sappho's poems for Zeus and Hekate.
Solefald is a metal band from Norway that was formed by members Lars Are "Lazare" Nedland and Cornelius Jakhelln in August 1995, with Lars singing and playing keyboard/synthesizer/piano and drums, and Cornelius singing and playing guitar and bass. The meaning of the band's name is best explained in an interview from Century Media Records website. Lazare states "Solefald is an old norse word for sunset. We "stole" it from a painting by the Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen.
Windrider is the creation of 18 year old Elliot Vernon from Yorkshire, England. Although principally the keyboard player of Ravenage, he is also a guitarist which lead him to write his own music. Majorly influenced by epic folk metal bands such as Equilibrium, Moonsorrow and Falkenbach, the lyrics are based on things such as Norse Mythology and the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien.
