Jasmine Minks

The Jasmine Minks were a British indie band, whose early singles were amongst the first releases by Creation Records. Formed in early-‘80s London, the band were initially a trio centred around singer Jim Shepherd. After sending a demo tape to Melody Maker, the band were recruited by Alan McGee to record for the fledgling Creation label. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1985, and in 1986 the band recorded their only Peel session. Further albums Another Age (1988) and Scratch the Surface (1989) drew critical acclaim before the band split.

The Good Natured

Sarah McIntosh is a 18-year old from Berkshire. McIntosh's debut EP is called Warriors. Its four songs, each of them an electro-pop gem, show such a total understanding of the genre's nuances and emotional/emotionless contradictions that, at once, she arrives as a compelling new talent.

The Orchids

There are at least four groups under this name. 1) One of the acts on the legendary indie label Sarah Records, The Orchids play pop in its purest and most engaging form. The band formed in the mid-1980s in Penilee, near Govan, in south Glasgow, releasing two full-length studio albums plus a string of EPs and singles. After Sarah dissolved in 1995 the band packed it in, but recently reformed to record a new album for the Siesta label and resumed gigging with a breathtaking comeback performance at London's Luminaire in March 2007.

The Triangles

The Triangles are a five piece band from Melbourne, Australia, who started playing together in 2003. Their style is informed by many types of music including psychedelic pop, guitar based indie rock and 1970s folk. The Triangles independently released two albums of folky experimental pop in 2003 and 2004 before their first major release

Next Time Passions

Next Time Passions were five boys from Athens/Greece:
Vassilis Pneymatikos-vocals.
Elias Papadopoulos-organ.
Makis Petratos-guitar.
Nikos Kalaskanis-guitar.
Yannis Dinos-bass, harmonica. They used a drum machine. Their only releases were the “Angel Flower” 7” on Greek This Happy Feeling label (feel 01) in 1993 and a split 7” with Impossible Tymes (with members from them and One Night Suzan) on Spanish Elefant Records in 1994.

The Hermit Crabs

The Hermit Crabs are: Melanie Whittle (guitar and vocals); John Ferguson (lead guitar); Mark Waudby (bass guitar); Ali King (violin, keyboards, percussion); and David Murray (drums). They are from Glasgow, Scotland. The Hermit Crabs were formed in 2003 when Mel's band California Snow Story were on hiatus. After various lineup changes, they released their debut EP, 'Feel Good Factor', on Matinée Recordings in January 2007, followed by an album in October 2007, 'Saw You Dancing', which included performances by members of Teenage Fanclub and Camera Obscura.
