Body Language

Busy saving the city from the brick wall arm crossing and the casual head nods, Brooklyn's own Body Language has risen from the DIY venue basements armed with the kinetic dynamite you would expect from the name. Their original music was born from weekly dance party remixes crafted by Grant Wheeler and Matt Young, and graced by the soul stylings of Ms. Angelica Bess. Their efforts, which illustrated their arrival into Brooklyn, were delivered in a five track EP called “Speaks".

Sonique

Born "Sonia Clarke" in London, England in 1968, of Trinidadian parentage. She was sort of written-off at school but had shown talents in sports. She dreamed of becoming a successful pentathlete up to the time ending up only second in a race. Then she turned to the music scene, dancing at clubs etc. and joined a band as a singer at the age of 17. She was homeless in these times. Her band went defunct the same year, but she got a solo record deal leading to an immediate hit in the UK.

Lazer Crystal

from flavorpill.com: "Writing about Lazer Crystal's deconstructed electro-pop is like interpreting Rorschach cards while blindfolded. Indeed, the outfit's exhilarating jams are difficult to describe. Spazzy synth chords transmogrify and rhythmic non sequiturs stop, drop, and roll, while deadpan, Ian Curtis-esque vocals modulate over swirling beats and sick drum wizardry. It's a bedazzling mélange of meta dance freak-outs and brainy math-rock technique.

LOEBEAT

LOEBEAT is the British trio of Dicey, Lula and producer Ramdaq. Together these Manchester three serve up a meaty brew of electro-edged pop that is sleek, sassy and incredibly stylish. Listen for example to the blistering "Music Boy" and the confident, dancefoor-ready "Come And Get It." Very good. Keep your eye on LOEBEAT.
