Turrentine Jones is being touted as a challenger for the modern blues crown, having already appeared on ITV4 and had their praises sung by The Guardian, Radio One DJ Zane Lowe and Q magazine. Given the furore, you could be forgiven for thinking that the trio are already several releases into their recording career, but Midnight Wings, a download-only release on May 14 on White’s III label, is in fact Turrentine Jones’ debut single. It has already been playlisted at Radio One on the B list and Radio Two on the C list.
