Death From Above 1979

Death from Above 1979 are the Toronto-based duo of Jesse F. Keeler on bass/synths and Sebastien Grainger on vocals/drums. Refusing to employ a lead guitarist, they played loud synth infused dance punk on the drum and bass combination alone. Originally named just "Death From Above", the duo changed their name after a legal dispute with New York City dance-punk label Death From Above (known as DFA Records since the September 11, 2001 attacks).

Cherry Suede

A shared interest has been the start of uncounted relationships. In the case of Randy Scott and Randy Young of Cherry Suede, the love of music and being a fan is at the core of how they look at their band. They were fans of pop and rock giants like the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams, and Tom Petty before they were musicians, and they know how important connections to performers can be. These connections can change lives. Maybe it’s a small change like smiling when you hear a chorus, or maybe it’s something bigger, like the power some songs have that can carry you through a tough time.

Boy & Bear

http://www.myspace.com/boyandbearmusic From the moment you first hear Boy & Bear, you’ll know this is something special, something different. Rich harmonies, music that breathes, full of unexpected twists and imagination, a sophisticated timelessness. It’s the sound of an outfit that you’d think has been performing together for years, perhaps decades. Which makes it all the more incredible to discover the five players that make up Boy & Bear are all in their early 20s and their incredible five-track EP, With Emperor Antarctica, is in fact their debut effort.

SNFU

SNFU is one of the longest running, most popular Canadian punk acts, formed in Edmonton, Alberta in 1982. The band packed it in not long after the release of In The Mean Time and In-Between Time. Muc went back to school, and the other band members went their own ways rather than try to replace him. That is, until 2007 when Mr. Chi Pig appeared on stage again fronting a band he was calling "asSNFU" for a small number of shows to celebrate the band's long history.
