Black Rain

For French glam/hard-rock band, see Blackrain. There are at least eight bands with the name Black Rain:

1) Black Rain, the NYC post punk / industrial group began in '89 with Stuart Argabright, Bones, Shin Shimokawa , Thom Furtado and Dave Vulcan, emerging out of the ruins of seminal post-punk outfit Ike Yard. After playing CBGB's, The Bank, Tompkins Square Park show commemorating the Riots there and the last GG Allin show at the Gas Station on LES ( Lungcast cassette ), this phase of the group went on to work in the Studio with Roy Mayorga (Thorn / StoneSour ) on drums and guitar riffage.

Santa Cruz

1) A Hard Rock band from Finland, formed in 2007. In late 2008 or early 2009 the band settled with a final line-up. The band is influenced by '80s and '90s rock n' roll. www.myspace.com/realsantacruz Vocals & guitar: Archie

Pharoah

Pharoah played the role of the east coast’s tonic to the masses for the over saturated 1980’s L.A. Glam Scene. Pharoah was best known for their outrageous stage antics, half blond and half black hairdo's and beat-conscious rock ‘n’ roll. Armed with their self-indoctrinated credo “Sex, Glam, Gloom” the band would dominate the tri-state area’s music scene during the 1980’s.

With Pharoah being on everybody’s “A” list for record executive parties, (including guests like Paul Schaeffer...

Disarm

There is more than one band that goes by the name Disarm, the two most prominent being a Swedish Hardcore/Punk band and a sleaze tinged Punk N' Roll band from the UK. 1) The UK Disarm (whose music can be heard on this Last.FM page) burst out of the small back waters town of Mexborough in 2005 and have been virtually constantly on the road around the UK, honing down their infectious, ‘punk metal ‘n’ roll’ sound ever since.

Gobsausage

Gobsausage formed in the early noughties by Takalina, Miss Halski and Culture Yob (aka Son of Daughter). Over the years they've had several Shoreditch girls (under alias names) provide vocals on their songs and perform live on stage with them. Such aliases as Cleopatra Galaxina, Miss Lucifer, Spanky Burger, Hong Kong Kitten, Prissie Poison and Trixie Dirttrain, alias used by Tree Carr. Their live shows are accompanied by violence, naked girls, an asian transvestite, a gimp-masked man, , and some of the best electro music we've heard for the best part of forever.

Vains of Jenna

Vains of Jenna is a sleaze rock band that was formed in Falkenberg, Sweden in early 2005. In April 2006, the band relocated to Hollywood, California. They recorded a three song self-titled demo in January '05 as well as a fourth track in April '05. The band received major interest worldwide, including being asked to play at Cruefest '05 at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go. The band recorded "Baby's Got A Secret," a four song EP which included a cover of The Rolling Stones "Jumping Jack Flash," in October '05 with Gilby Clarke handling production.

Babylon A.D.

Formed in Oakland California as the Persuaders, Derek Davis (vocals), Ron Freschi (guitar) Jamey Pacheco (drums) Danny De La Rosa (guitar) and Robb Reid (bass) were in childhood and rival bands until they eventually evolved into Babylon A.D (www.babylonad.com). Later as a band, they caught the attention of Arista Records president and industry music mogul Clive Davis who signed them at a showcase in Los Angeles thanks to their impressive three-song demo, home made video and consistent sold out performances in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
