Talvin Singh
Talvin Singh (Matharu) (born in 1970 in Leytonstone, London, England) is a classically trained tabla player, music producer and DJ. He is generally considered to be the 'father' of asian underground music and was a central figure in developing and promoting this music at the Blue Note club. His compilation album derived from Blue Note club nights, 'soundz of the asian underground' gave the wider world the first breakthrough urban asian fusion album and revealed the talents of a number of asian artists.

Their main influence is punk and their lyrics are frequently introspective and self-degrading. They often do shows with fellow Minnesota hip-hop label Rhymesayers Entertainment. Emcees perform solo or with one another, each contributing a different approach to their music.

Loxy began raving (Jedi training) in 89/90 at events like telepathy and just fell for the culture. Got serious and decided to become a part of the movement and perfected his craft soon after. Being from the B-Boy backgorund, it wasn't totally alien getting into the vibe of this new phenomenon - which was then known as acid house, soon to become what we know and love as drum & bass. Loxy's first dj gigs were in 1990 at Psychotic and Time events.

Sonique
Born "Sonia Clarke" in London, England in 1968, of Trinidadian parentage. She was sort of written-off at school but had shown talents in sports. She dreamed of becoming a successful pentathlete up to the time ending up only second in a race. Then she turned to the music scene, dancing at clubs etc. and joined a reggae band as a singer at the age of 17. She was homeless in these times. Her band went defunct the same year, but she got a solo record deal leading to an immediate club hit in the UK.

Composed of Glenn Herweijer and Zula Warner they have been releasing tracks on a variety of labels, from the dark and heavy styles of Commercial Suicide/31 Recs to the more Latin tinged, happy vibes of V recordings and Soul:r. But just who are A.I and where have they come from? Mistaken by many for newcomers bursting onto the scene, this assumption is far from the truth.

DJ SS, born Leroy Small (on August 27 1970) , is a Drum and Bass DJ and producer from Leicester, United Kingdom. Originally a breakdancer, DJ Stratch Stein began playing electro music as a teenager in the early 1980's. He then played Hip Hop and Rare Groove before turning to producing in 1988 initially Acid House, Hardcore, Breakbeat and finally Jungle/Drum and Bass tracks. SS got his big break DJ'ing at the big British raves of the early 1990's such as Telepathy. Since then he has gone on to DJ world wide.
