Mononc' Serge

Mononc' Serge (real name Serge Robert) is a Quebecois musician who sings in French and is best known for his extremely (often exaggeratedly) vulgar lyrics and his irreverent songs making fun of local celebrities and politicians. He is also quite sardonic with the Quebec federalist movement, and their counterparts in the rest of Canada.
He played as a bassist for the band Les Colocs until 1995, then began a solo career as Mononc' Serge.

Manu

There are four artists with the name Manu: Manu, a Dutch conscious rapper. Before releasing his first solo-album, he has released several albums in a group called Gouda Spoort Nie, among his brother Neo and others. His solo-album, De Vloek op de Overvloed, was released on 16th May 2008. and Manu, it' the return of Emmanuelle Monet, French rock band Dolly's singer, who comes back with an album to pay tribute to the bass player Micka, deceased in a car crash. and

With smooth, pop-influenced vocals, wide open electric guitars, rhythm pianos and soaring harmonies, Elliot's sound is modern and tasteful. Michael Summers, Casey Parnell, Corey Parnell and Nathan Walker were the founding members of what would later become Elliot.

Radio Radio

Radio Radio are Montreal based hip hop trio from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia who rap in Acadian French. They've recently launched their second full length album, "Belmundo Regal" (Bonsound Records) which has been getting rave reviews and creating quite a buzz. Le Vent du Nord

The Quebecois folk music group Le Vent du Nord was founded in 2002. They play both pieces composed by members of the group and traditional quebecois tunes, sometimes adding elements from pop and jazz. The group has four members; Benoit Bourque (diatonic accordion, bones, mandolin, jaw harp, step dance, vocals), Nicolas Boulerice (hurdy gurdy, piano, piano-accordion, bodhran, vocals), Olivier Demers (fiddle, guitar, vocals, foot tapping) and Simon Beaudry
(guitar, voice).

Lilly Wood & The Prick

Lilly Wood & The Prick are Nili Hadida (lead vocals, piano, glockenspiel) and Benjamin Cotto (guitar and backing vocals). Formed in 2006 in Paris, their first self-titled EP is composed of 6 tracks among which there is a version of hit L.E.S. Artistes by Santigold. The song Water ran is featured on the compilation Folk and Proud.
The first album Invincible Friends came out on May 31, 2010. A year later, they won the People's Choice Award at "Les Victoires de la Musique".

Gestalt

Gestalt was formed in 1982 in Lyon. The group draws from the musical Pantheon where Jim Morrisson and Léo Ferré, Hawkwind and Béla Bartok cross, and the most inventive formations of the moment, like Tuxedomoon or Mechanic. In this asserted eclecticism, it is especially its own way which Gestalt seeks. That of a dark energy rock'n'roll interfered research in the compositions.
