Jon Auer

Jon Auer is most well known for being one half of The Posies creative team, along with Ken Stringfellow. Auer's solo recordings demonstrate his considerable influence to the success of The Posies. In particular, SONGS FROM THE YEAR OF OUR DEMISE achieves new levels of melody and lyrical brilliance. The song "Bottom of the Bottle" will resonate with anyone who has dated someone who drinks a "little too much," and "Six Feet Under" may be one of the most depressing (yet cathartic) break-up songs ever written.

The Barracudas

This London-based Anglo-Canadian band, whose members include Jeremy Gluck (vocals), Robin Wills (guitar), David Buckley (bass), and Nick Turner (drums), was formed in 1979 and scored a U.K. chart hit in 1980 with the neo-surf song "Summer Fun." Turner and Buckley left after the release of the first album Drop Out With the Barracudas (1981) and were replaced by Jim Dickson and Terry Smith. Chris Wilson also joined on guitar.

The June Brides

The June Brides were an English pop music group, formed in London in 1983, by Phil Wilson and Simon Beesley of International Rescue. Juliana Hatfield (born July 27, 1967 in Wiscasset, Maine, United States), is an American guitarist/singer-songwriter from the Boston area, formerly of the indie rock band Blake Babies. The daughter of Philip M. Hatfield (a radiologist) and The Boston Globe fashion critic Julie Hatfield, Juliana was born in Maine and grew up in the Boston suburb of Duxbury. She acquired a love of rock music during the 1970s, having been introduced by a babysitter to the music of the seminal Los Angeles punk rock band X, which proved a life-changing experience.

There are two bands with the name Galaxie 500:
1) an American alternative rock band that formed in 1987 and split in 1991
2) a francophone indie garage rock formed in 2002 in Montreal, Canada, and now known as Galaxie 1) Galaxie 500 formed in Boston, MA in 1986 and comprised vocalist/guitarist Dean Wareham (a transplanted New Zealand native), bassist Naomi Yang and drummer Damon Krukowski, longtime friends who first met in high school in New York City before all three attended Harvard University.

Hank Green

Hank Green (May 5, 1980) is one of the two founders of the video blog project Brotherhood 2.0 that inspired the community of cool nerds known as Nerdfighters. Hank wrote many of his songs for his Brotherhood 2.0 videos. He and Alan Lastufka co-own DFTBA Records, a label that signs successful YouTube-based musicians. The Verlaines

The origins of New Zealand's Verlaines can be traced back as early as 1979, with the group's founder Graeme Downes took direct inspiration from fellow Dunedin group, the Clean to form a band of his own. It wasn't until 1981 that the group made their first public appearance with their initial five-piece line-up. The band have so far released seven full-length albums on three different labels, one mini album, three singles and two compilations.
