A native of snowy Rochester, NY, Jess Klein picked up the acoustic guitar and started writing songs while living as a student abroad in Kingston, Jamaica in her late teens. Her first songs reflected a bittersweet culture shock as well as the warmth and musical vibrancy of these new surroundings. While shopping for cassette tapes of dub poets Mutabaruka and Linton Kwesi Johnson, fate put her in touch with the MC of a weekly dub poetry and music session, who took an interest in her talent and encouraged her to audition for a guest slot.

Bonnie Raitt, (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview. "My parents would drag me out to perform for my family, like all parents do, but it was a hobby—nothing more...I think people must wonder how a white girl like me became a blues guitarist.

Carolyn Anona Scott is a 22 year-old songwriter and folk singer. Born in Dunfermline, Carolyn has been living and gigging around Edinburgh for two years now. Her take on traditional song has been described as "spine-tingling" by The Sunday Times. Her debut album will be available in early 2009. Three artists are known as Little Joe 1. José María De León Hernández, known professionally as Little Joe is an American tejano performer. He is usually joined by his band Y La Familia Borrachera. In 1992, their album 16 de Septiembre earned the grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Performance. 2. A band called Little Joe was formed in November 2003 in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
