Come Gather Round Us

This band is not looking forward to a major-label debut. Iconoclastic and staunchly anti-establishment, COME GATHER ROUND US conjures the naive political angst of the early 1960s, when songwriters thought they could change the world and they gave a sh*t enough to try. Playing in livingrooms and DIY venues, these four musicians erase the boundary line between audience and performer, life and art.

Artist Type:

Jethro Tull

Ian Anderson's flute may be the defining factor in Jethro Tull's music, but it's only one element in a band that's been around since the late 60s. Originally a blues-based rock band with a few dollops of British folk in their sound, they evolved into one of the most popular progressive rock bands of the 70s. Jethro Tull formed in Blackpool, Lancashire, England in the 1968. Their music is marked by the quirky vocal style and unique lead flute work of frontman Ian Anderson and by unusual and often complex song construction.

cherbourg

Cherbourg emerged in 2008 from the London folk scene with an original sound, generated through a common respect and desire to embrace as many of each other’s varying musical influences as possible. Originally called ‘Davie Fiddle and the Lucky Egg’ they consist of Andrew Davie (guitar, vocals), Phil Fiddle (fiddle, mandolin, guitar, piano, vocals), Kevin Jones (bass, vocals) and Chris Maas (drums, vocals). The band delivers four part vocal harmonies, epic beats and soaring melodies.

Ravens & Chimes

Grown from the halls of NYU, in the midst of one of New York City's harshest winters, Ravens & Chimes debut album, Reichenbach Falls, introduces a youthful, optimistic lightness in the form of a record packed with a series of eclectic and ear-grabbing tunes. Perhaps influenced by many a dark, snowy night in that winter of 2005, Ravens & Chimes dig out a catchy set of instrumentally-charged melodies that show their developed blend of unconventional sound. CMJ called Ravens & Chimes "beautiful" and "unique" evoking comparisons at times to either Wolf Parade or Voxtrot.
