James Murray

James Murray is a composer, music producer and multi-instrumentalist. His productions combine delicate sound design and manipulated acoustic recordings, and tend towards a low-tempo, reflective aesthetic. The critically acclaimed debut Where Edges Meet was released on Ultimae Records in 2008 and forms the centre-piece of a small, considered catalogue released internationally over a seven year period.

There are 6 bands with the name Lava: 1. Lava was a short-lived DIY punk band from Maryland, who put out one 7" record on Gravity Records in the 1990's. The band featured Tonie Joy of The Convocation Of..., Moss Icon, Universal Order of Armageddon, and Born Against on guitar. Their often-overlooked 7" is still available at http://www.gravityrec.com 2. Lava is an early seventies band from Berlin that in 1973 made one of the best 'rock albums' on the legendary green Brain 1,000-series. The members reputedly lived as a commune.

Seaming, sometimes credited as simply Seaming To, is an British-born Chinese singer-songwriter, keyboardist and clarinettist based in Manchester. She is a member of the Homelife and Toolshed collectives, the Lotus Pedals and the duo Mayming (with cellist Semay Wu) and has been a guest vocalist for The Herbaliser (“PlaySomething Wicked”), Mr. Scruff (“PlayBeyond” and “PlayValley of the Sausages”), Leila (“The Exotics”), Funckarma (“Kinnex” and “Ketayseam”) Robert Wyatt ("Stay Tuned") and, in live performances, Matthew Bourne.

Cut Chemist

Cut Chemist is the performing name of Lucas MacFadden, a solo turntablist. He is a former member of the funk Latin band Ozomatli, and of the underground rap group Jurassic 5. He became known through the Los Angeles-based rap group Unity Committee, and debuted on vinyl on the B-Side of Unity Committee's 1993 single, Unified Rebelution. The track, "Lesson 4: The Radio" was an ovation of Double Dee and Steinski's seminal hip-hop masterpieces, "Lessons 1-3."

Makoto

There are at least two artist with name Makoto: 1. Based in Tokyo, Makoto Shimizu, better known as simply Makoto, is Japan's chief Drum & Bass ambassador. After completing an Acoustic Engineering major at Nippon University, Makoto first signed with LTJ Bukem's legendary Good Looking Records back in 1999.
Since then he has gone from strength to strength, releasing a long string of quality music in the form of singles and EP's, but also on the famous 'Earth' and 'Progression Sessions' compilation albums.
