Aidan Knight (born October 23, 1986, in Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian songwriter and namesake for Canadian experimental folk band, Aidan Knight. Knight has also performed and recorded with The Zolas, Hannah Georgas, Dan Mangan, and We Are the City. For some time, Aidan Knight was known as a helpful backing musician, playing everything from pop-rock bass lines to violent, pounding hardcore drums.
Two groups currently record under the moniker AroarA: There is the "industrial-goth-hobo" husband-wife power duo of Broken Social Scene guitarist and Apostle Of Hustle frontman Andrew Whiteman and Ariel Engle, formed in 2011. The two plan on releasing an EP interpreting experimental poet Alice Notley's "In The Pines" with their own experimental somber-folk with programmed dance beats, presumably to be released this year. The band is also said to be working on their proper full-length album. Whiteman plays a fretless North African goatskin banjo and Engle plays a four-string cigar box guitar.

Hedley is a Canadian pop rock band comprising lead singer Jacob Hoggard, Tommy Mac on bass, Dave Rosin on lead guitar and Chris Crippin on drums. The current band retains the original name of Hoggard's pre-Canadian Idol group, although the membership has changed. The band originated in Abbotsford, British Columbia. They were named after the town of Hedley, British Columbia, a name chosen after members heard that it was for sale for $246,000.

Electric Pow Wow is a monthly club night dedicated to showcasing Aboriginal DJ talent and Native urban culture and is aimed at creating a space for Aboriginal people. ATCR creates an eclectic sound made up of a wide variety of musical styles ranging from hip-hop, dance hall, electronic, and their own mash-up of club and Pow Wow music, known as pow wow step.

Some bands find instant success, however for Selkirk, Manitoba's The Resistance it's been an uphill battle, and with the likes of Propagandhi, Comeback Kid and the Weakerthans hailing Winnipeg as home; the Resistance have some big shoes to fill. Abysm was a Death/Thrash Metal band from Ottawa, Canada. Formed in 2007, they had a very brief lifespan, but managed to release one official recording, simply entitled "Demo 2007" and a rehearsal. Only ten copies were initially pressed, hand-numbered 1-10, but more were pressed later.
