The Grates are a two-piece band from Brisbane, Australia. Patience Hodgson (vocals), John Patterson (guitar) and Alana Skyring (drums) formed The Grates in 2002. The Grates have been lauded for their catchy songs and enthusiastic and energetic live show (Patience spends much of the show bouncing around, even while singing). They are frequently described as fun: "We just wanna have fun and hope other people do too." (Patience). Their sound has been compared to the Ramones, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Be Your Own Pet.
Ghostwood are an alternative rock band formed in Sydney, Australia in 2006. Ghostwood members are Gabriel Navidzadeh (lead vocals), Paddy Harrowsmith (guitar), Tom Crandles (bass), and James West (drums). Still in high school, the band were signed to Modular in late 2006 for a one EP deal and are heavily influenced by bands like Oasis, The Stone Roses, Joy Division and My Bloody Valentine. The band used to be called The Ghosts, but changed their name to Ghostwood "because 7 million other bands already have the name 'Ghosts'".

So, a quick introduction, Bjork is said to be a fan of Micachu and can probably identify with another artist brave enough to take pop music into entirely uncharted territory. Micachu is largely inspired by Harry Partch who famously used an array of customized and home made instruments.
As befits a band who's had a U.K. hit duetting with Peter Doherty (on the sublime single "Their Way"), Littl'ans are no strangers to chaos. Their last British tour saw gigs cancelled thanks to, amongst other things, an exploding gas canister and a double booking with 80s legend Echo and the Bunnymen. When they supported Babyshambles, they were subjected to the indignities of the rubber glove treatment after the bus they were travelling on was raided for drugs by the police, (The band were later released without charges).

Operator Please is a baroque pop band from Gold Coast, Australia that formed in early 2005 and their current line up consists of vocalist and guitarist Amandah Wilkinson, drummer Tim Commandeur, keyboardist Chris Holland, bassist Ashley McConnell, and violinist Taylor Henderson. Original keyboardist Sarah Gardiner left in April of 2008. They released their debut album, "Yes Yes Vindictive" in November 2007 in Australia and March 2008 in Germany/United Kingdom. They released their third single "Just A Song About Ping Pong" in Australia, debuting at #15 on the ARIA charts.
