Lise de la Salle

Lise de la Salle, born in 1988, gave her first concert at the age of nine, at Radio France. After winning many competitions in France, at the age of twelve she was awarded First Prize at the seventh Ettlingen International Competition in Germany. She was appointed to a bursary from the Fondation d'Entreprise Groupe Banque Populaire-Natexis, and won in rapid succession the first prizes of the Young Concert Artists European Auditions held in Paris in October 2003, and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York in January 2004.

Dirge

There are six bands called Dirge : 1. Dirge is a French band formed in 1994 in Paris, France. From the genre that exploded in the first part of the 90s, the band slowly evolved toward a more atmospheric and progressive form of metal, related to bands such as Neurosis, Isis, and Cult of Luna. The original band members were Marc T. (guitars, programming) and Laurent P. (vocals, programming). In the genre of bands like Godflesh and Pitchshifter, the duo's music was a hybrid of corrosive guitars, robotic hammerings, and scratching samples.

The Janitors

There are several bands called "The Janitors" 1)The Janitors were an alternative rock/Noise rock band from Sunderland & Newcastle, formed in 1984. They were led by singer Andrew Denton, who was backed by Craig Hope (guitar, keyboards), Simon Warnes (bass guitar), and Tim Stirland (drums). Described as "a mixture of Membranes meeting Captain Beefheart, they signed to Marc Riley's In-Tape label, releasing their debut single, "Chicken Stew" in July 1985.

Jean-Guihen Queyras

Jean-Guihen Queyras is a French cellist. He was born in Canada and moved with his parents to Algeria when he was 5. He then moved to France 3 years later. He is a professor at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart and artistic co-director of the Rencontres Musicales de Haute-Provence. He has recorded for Harmonia Mundi, including the complete cello suites of Benjamin Britten and Johann Sebastian Bach and his recordings have won such distinctions as Top CD - BBC Music Magazine, Diapason d'Or, CHOC du Monde de la Musique, 10 de Classica/Répertoire, and Editor's Choice from Gramophone.
