Cadillac

There is have been several acts with this name: 1) a Norwegian rock band 2) a Spanish pop group 3) a Australian luxury vehicle 1) Legendary, catchy, melodic and slightly underestimated Norwegian rock-band, disbanded in 2005. Released three very different albums, all very well-played, well-produced and very well-written. Why Cadillac never gained the same recognition as many of their contemporaries remains a mystery, but it probably stems from internal struggles and a low touring-frequency.

Morgan Geist

This New Jersey native was initially inspired by England's take on the sound of Detroit, but eventually tracked techno back to its Motor City innovators. When he began listening to music, however, it was the sound of early-'80s synth heroes like Devo, Severed Heads and New Order alongside early hiphop, jazz and 60's Hindi film soundtracks. Geist released his first 12" (via Dan Curtin's innovative Metamorphic label) while studying at Oberlin College in 1994.

Hot Toddy

There are two artists with the name Hot Toddy. 1. "Hot Toddy" is the solo moniker for Chris Todd, better known for my work with Crazy P(enis), but has been writing music under the name of Hot Toddy since around 1998. His first releases were on the Nottingham based label Neon Heights and on the Manchester based label, Paperecordings (the album "Super Magic", in 2001). [ http://www.myspace.com/hottoddyuk ]
