Thomas Newman

Thomas Newman (born October 20, 1955) is an American film score composer and a member of a family who established a film-scoring dynasty in Hollywood. He was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of composer Alfred Newman (1901-1970) (who scored Battle of Midway, My Friend Flicka, Song of Bernadette, Gentleman's Agreement, All About Eve, and The Robe) and his wife Martha Louise, née Montgomery. He was educated at Yale University.

The Welsh progressive rock band Karnataka were formed in 1997 by founder members Ian Jones (bass/guitars), Rachel Jones (vocals) and Jonathan Edwards (keyboards). The embryonic band were augmented by guitarist Paul Davies and drummer Gavin Griffiths, who had both played with the other members of Karnataka in other bands or in rehearsals. Enjoying an instant rapport, the five piece Karnataka recorded what became their debut album, Karnataka, in Ian's basic home studio. In the beginning, the band had no thought of actually releasing the album — they had made the recording for their own pleasure.

Charles Webster is an electronic musician from Sheffield, England, who specialises in producing house music. As well as releasing music under his own name, Webster has also worked under various monikers, including Furry Phreaks, Presence, and Megatonk. His most prominent release on Peacefrog Records is Born on the 24th of July. Gabriel Yared (Arabic: جبرائيل يارد) (born 7 October 1949) is a Lebanese-French composer, best known for his work in French and American cinema. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, his work in France included the scores for Betty Blue and Camille Claudel. He later began working with American film directors, winning an Oscar for his score for The English Patient and a nomination for The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain.

Homecut Directive, the North of England's best kept Hip-Hop secret, released their debut single "Come The Revolution" (featuring Corinne Bailey-Rae) in March 2004 after five years of gigging, recording, freestyling and generally "putting the hip in Hip-Hop" (North Guide). Over the years this six-man live Hip-Hop crew have developed one of the UK's finest live shows, supporting Black Twang, People Under The Stairs, Fingathing & Ty. With regular shows at The Hifi Club in Leeds & Sheffield's Tuesday Club, Homecut are currently recording new material for release in 2007.
