“I didn’t even think it would get that big,” Giggs frankly reveals about the anthemic freestyle that has propelled him to the forefront of the underground scene. “Really I just wrote that track for myself, I didn’t even think anyone else would like it.” On that count, it’s quite fair to say that the South London spitter was very wrong! The track which starts off, “If you’re talking the hardest...” doesn’t even have a name, but can regularly be heard seeping out of kids’ mobile phones, as well as beating out of the radio thanks to the likes of Tim Westwood, DJ Limelight and Big Ryde.

Scorcher

Scorcher (real name Tayo Jarrett) is a grime MC and producer from North London. He began his career in Cold Blooded where he became known for his 'shank' bars, and would regularly attend pirate radio and work his way up through the North London grime circuit. Scorcher had to serve a prison sentence for a short period of time in 2006, and while in jail his mixtape Simply The Best dropped and was greeted with good reviews from the grime scene. Many believe 2005 to mid 2006 was when Scorcher was at the peak of his ability as a grime MC, his bars from that time can be heard on Rinse Sessions.

Akala

The streets gave birth to hip hop, and the streets are where it lives. But the corporate world stole rap. Now Akala’s stealing it back. Over the last two years Kingslee ‘Akala’ Daley, has emerged from London’s hip hop underground as one of the leaders of a new British artistic renaissance. In 2006 Akala won the Best Hip Hop MOBO award for his debut album ‘It’s Not A Rumour’. Since then Akala has rocked live spots on Radio 1 and warmed up for artists as diverse as Jay-Z, Christina Aguilera and Richard Ashcroft.

Phi-Life Cypher

Phi-Life Cypher is a Luton-based rap group. Arguably one of England's most talented hip hop acts, having cemented their reputation from underground hip hop clubs, today embracing their recent popularity. Phi-Life's achievements include appearing live on the Brit Awards, touring and appearing on B-side tracks with Gorillaz and DJ Vadim and being voted Best Live Act at Kings College, Cambridge. They are best known for their accomplished stage presence, freestyles and frenetic rhyming. Life and Si-Phili and are the MC's, with DJ Nappa providing the beats (DJ/Producer).

KYZA (Born A. Henry) is a hip-hop MC from London. He was a member of well-known UK hip hop crew Terra Firma until he left in November 2006, allegedly due to disagreements with the crew's founder Klashnekoff.
