The Icicle Works

The Icicle Works were an alternative rock band which formed in Liverpool, England in 1980. The band's original lineup consisted of Ian McNabb (vocals, guitar), Chris Layhe (bass, percussion) and Chris Sharrock (drums). Layhe and Sharrock left the band in 1988, but McNabb continued the band with replacement members until 1990. McNabb reformed the band with different replacement members in 2006, but this incarnation lasted only until 2008. Sharrock, who remains on good terms with McNabb, later drummed for The La's, World Party and Oasis.

BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE

Big Audio Dynamite, later known as Big Audio Dynamite II and Big Audio, and often abbreviated Bad or B.A.D. was a British band formed in 1984 by the ex-guitarist and singer of The Clash, Mick Jones. The band blended elements of punk rock, reggae, hip-hop, electronica and rock into their own style of music. Mick Jones - guitars & vocals, Don Letts - sound effects & vocals, Dan Donovan - keyboards, Greg Roberts - drums & background vocals, Leo Williams - bass.

999 are an English punk band which formed in London in 1976. Founded by singer/guitarist Nick Cash, 999's original lineup also included Guy Days (vocals/guitar), Jon Watson (bass) and Pablo LaBritain (drums). Ed Case served temporarily as drummer following LaBritain's injury in 1978, while Watson has since been replaced by Danny Palmer (1986-1991) and former Lurkers member Arturo Bassick (1991-present).

Flying Pickets

The Flying Pickets is a British a cappella vocal group, that had a surprise number one hit in 1983 in the UK singles chart, with their cover of Yazoo's track Only You. The name 'Flying Pickets' refers to mobile strikers who travel in order to join a picket. The group of six was founded by Brian Hibbard in 1982 by a group of actors , the "7:84 Theatre group", a fringe theatre group who had sung a capella in their production of One Big Blow, based on the 1984 UK miners' strike.

As a child she dabbled in acting making her film debut as one of the dancing orphans in the film version of "Annie". As a teen she would star as 'Gloria' on the syndicated children's variety show 'Kids Incorporated'. After outgrowing her role, Martika would turn her focus towards her first love, music.

The Scarecrows were formed in December 1982. Dave Twist (Drums) and Mandy Darlington (vocals), (then his girlfriend) They had both been in a band called The Bible Belt along with myself, this band also consisted of Dave Kusworth. Dave K went on to form a band called The Rag Dolls with what was the other remains of The Bible Belt but with a new Drummer (Carl Bevan). I took some time out to consider my options.
