Artist Type:

Smokestack

Smokestack is a provocative and highly energetic band that successfully fuses Rock, R&B, Jazz, and Latin styles. With an emphasis on tight grooves, melodic songs, and sophisticated improvisation, Smokestack has developed a truly unique and refreshing sound. Its no coincidence that shortly after JamBase named Smokestack one of the Bands to See Live in 2005, Relix magazine listed them number one in the On the Verge section of their March issue.

The Olympic Symphonium

The Olympic Symphonium is a unique collaboration between three accomplished Maritime musicians. With the hopes of forming a quiet escape from their accustomed high-energy rock/pop projects, the idea of this group was to focus more on the subtle, gentler side of music. The group released their stunning debut, Chapter 1, in early 2007. The album has been distributed, reviewed and sold all over the world and is now out of print.

Artist Type:

Zuba

Zuba wrote and rehearsed Allez! in the basement of a disused sandwich factory in the centre of Glasgow in the long, wet summer of 2004. The following recording sessions ran through to November. The main idea of recording these songs was to define, refine and capture Zuba’s existing live sound – a sound borne of a fusion of different cultures but not defined by them. Zuba’s Bassa Beat is global cosmopolitanism almost by accident of birth. The band members were friends, who just happened to be musicians from different parts of the world , before they were a band.
