Pedro the Lion was an indie rock band from Seattle, Washington, comprising David Bazan and TW Walsh. Because of the biblical references in many of their songs, Pedro the Lion were seen by some to be a Christian band, but they did not consider the band to be such. Pedro the Lion was formed by David Bazan in 1994 and released their debut EP Whole in April 1997. Despite the band's many lineup changes, Bazan remained the primary artist and musician behind the group, exemplified by his singing and playing every instrument on the band's first two full length albums...
Rex are at least two artist names: 1)An early version of slowcore band Rex originated in Maine in 1991, but at the time, drummer Doug Scharin was devoting most of his time to slowcore innovators Codeine. In 1994, Rex relocated to Brooklyn. With bands like Idaho, Acetone and the Red House Painters helping to keep alive the pensive, brooding slowcore movement, Rex didn't waste any time recording their self-titled debut for Southern Records that same year. This record fluctuates wildly between gentle, meandering guitar lines and powerful, emotive vocals.
Clare and the Reasons call Brooklyn home, but after touring around the world extensively for their first two albums with Van Dyke Parks, My Brightest Diamond, and on their own, they needed a new setting – one that would make them see and hear differently. For 8 months in 2011 they lived in an apartment on Berlin’s Bergstrasse, on the western edges of what used to be the East. They got a 1968 Schwalbe moped – model KR-51 – and sped around the city at a velocity the congested New York streets would have prohibited.

Having recorded a demo in the studio of an artist's collective in Gothenburg in the summer of 2003, the positive responses were immediate. During the summer and autumn they played more shows, selling over 500 demos in the process. Moving forward a year or so, Audrey began to develop their sound.
