Gemma Hayes

Gemma Hayes is a singer-songwriter born August 11, 1977 in Ballyporeen, Tipperary, Ireland. She signed to Source Records/Virgin in 2001 and issued the folksy 4.35am EP and the more band-orientated Work To A Calm EP before releasing her debut album, Night On My Side, in 2002. The album was subsequently nominated for that year's Mercury Music Prize. After touring Night on my Side Hayes took 2 years out from the music business; "All I do know is that I didn't want to listen to music at all. I stopped listening to the radio. It was like I'd overdosed on music".

Alan Burke

Alan Burke is an Irish singer and songwriter with a wide repertoire of traditionals, Gaelic and contemporary songs, on stage mostly performed alone with both powerful and sensitive guitar play. His brand is a very unique voice, clear and full of the typical celtic excitement, moving his listeners from laughter to tears. As a session musician he supported Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Moving Hearts, Altan, Donal Lunny, Davy Spillane, Paddy Glackin, and DeDannan among many others. He fronted the band called AFTERHOURS for many years before embarking on a solo career.

Wallis is a 26 year old Irish born singer who had an evident first love for music from the age of 2 when she got her first guitar! She has been involved in diverse projects, musically and otherwise since the age of 11, having written soundtracks to and acted in short films and plays. Wallis has been giging on the Irish music circuit since the age of 17, playing a catalogue of gigs from tiny, smokie, dim-lit bars to big bright festivals; all building up her reputation as a confident performer with songs written in many styles ranging from folk to rock to jazz to contemporary.

Cara Dillon

Cara Dillon was born in 1975 in Dungiven, County Derry, Northern Ireland. She has formerly been a member of the folk groups 'Oige' and 'Equation'. She and Sam Lakeman (whom she married in 2002) left Equation and signed to Blanco y Negro records going under the name 'Polar Star'. Dillon released her eponymous first solo album in 2001, a mixture of tradtional songs with 2 original compositions. This album garnered the best newcomer award and the best song for 'Black Is the Colour' at the 2002 Radio 2 folk awards.

Phil Lynott

Philip Parris Lynott (20 August 1949 – 4 January 1986) was an Irish singer, instrumentalist and songwriter, who first came to prominence as a member of Thin Lizzy. Lynott was born in Hallam Hospital (now Sandwell General Hospital) in West Bromwich (then in Staffordshire), England, the son of a Brazilian father, Cecil Parris, and a White Irish Catholic mother, Philomena (aka Phyllis) Lynott, whose surname he took.

There are a number of bands and artist using this name. (1) The original band called Slide were from Glasgow, Scotland. Formed in the 1980s. They toured with GUN and Texas and released the album 'Down so long'. The biggest hit from the album was called 'Why is it a crime?' Slide consisted of: Kenny Paterson - Lead Guitar
