Whipping Boy

There are two bands to have used this name: 1) Irish alternative rock band (1991-98 + 2005-present) 2) Californian hardcore punk band (1982-86) - - - - - - - -
1) Whipping Boy were an influential Irish rock music band who were active in the 1990s.They came to public attention with the critically acclaimed Heartworm album. They had been together a number of years at this stage, and had already released a low-key debut, Submarine.

The Brothers Movement

The Brothers Movement is the new name for the Irish psychedelic rock band Mainline, who supported the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Brian Jonestown Massacre many times. The band members include NEIL PAXTON - electric guitar/vox, DANDA- electric guitar/vox/harmonica, SCOTT GLENNON - electric guitar, CONOR PAXTON - bass guitar, DERICK O'NEILL - keys/synth and ANDY PARKES - drums. Pauline Scanlon

Pauline Scanlon (born in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland) is a singer of contemporary and traditional Irish music. Dingle is a Gaeltacht, which is an area where the population's first language is Irish. Scanlon has been singing professionally since she was 15 years old. She has toured the pub and club scene on the Dingle peninsula with her nephew Dayne Scanlon. Scanlon has toured extensively worldwide with Sharon Shannon and has been featured on RTE's The Late Late Show. She featured on Sharon Shannon's Libertango album (2003), singing A Case Of You, the Joni Mitchell song.

DRN started writing and rehearsing in the summer of 2006. Early sessions yielded demos which were sent out to some of the band’s favourite producers – when the calls started coming in the band new they had hit on the right formula. Choosing to work with acclaimed producers Flood (U2, Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey) and Tom Rixton (Elastica, The Chalets, Tom Vek) the band recorded the underground hit Love Like Nicotine which was released in Ireland in June 2007 to universal critical acclaim, rammed dancefloors and heavy alternative radio rotation.

Marc O'Reilly

My Friend Marx is the debut album from the freshest Irish voice of 2011. Marc O’Reilly’s roots may lie in Waterford and France, but his sound rests somewhere between the American-influenced folk blues of Peter Green and contemporaries such as Ray LaMontagne and Gomez. Following stints in different alt/rock bands, Marc began to make his mark in 2010 as a solo performer, playing at last summer’s Electric Picnic festival and supporting fellow Irish songwriters including David Kitt.

Clannad

Clannad is an Irish musical group from Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland. Their music has been variously described as being folk music, new age, and celtic. Clannad are Máire Ní Bhraonáin (Moya Brennan), Ciarán Brennan, Pól Brennan, Noel Duggan and Pádraig Duggan. Eithne Ní Bhraonáin (Enya Brennan), Máire's sister, used to be a member of the group in the early Eighties. The band won a Grammy Award in 1999 for Best New Age Album.
