The Quickening were borne a 3 piece punk band some 12 years ago in Brisbane Australia, and for that reason have had trouble shaking their image as a punk band, all be it a increasingly outdated one.
The Quickening have always been renouned for their technical proficency, both in a live and recorded capacity. The addition of a 2nd guitarist in 2007 gave the band an opportunity to solidify their technical prowess and develop their ever broardening style. And to be cocks....

Black Flag is an American hardcore punk band formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California, United States, largely the brainchild of Greg Ginn, the guitarist, primary songwriter and sole continuous member through multiple personnel changes. Keith Morris was their original lead singer. He left the band suddenly in 1979 to form the well-known band, Circle Jerks. Ron Reyes was the second singer for the band, but decided to leave the band not too long after. Dez Cadena would be their next singer, but switched to second guitar when they found fourth and final singer Henry Rollins in Washington D.
Good Riddance is a punk rock band hailing from Santa Cruz, California. They formed in 1986 and after over twenty years, eight albums, and countless tours, played their farewell show in 2007. They played fast and explosive punk and hardcore music that was heavily influenced by the early American hardcore scene. The lyrical themes varied from political protests and analysis of the American society, to personal struggles and alienation. On occasion, the band had also been known to write slower, sometimes romantic songs.
