Salt-N-Pepa

Salt-N-Pepa is an American rnb and hip-hop group, consisting of Cheryl James and Sandy Denton ("Salt" and "Pepa", respectively), and Deidre "Dee Dee" Roper (DJ Spinderella). They debuted with "The Show Stopper", a response record to Doug E. Fresh & Slick Rick's "The Show". It was an underground hit and Salt-N-Pepa signed to Next Plateau. Their debut LP was Hot, Cool & Vicious (1986, which was produced by Salt's then-boyfriend, Hurby Azor, the group's manager, and he received songwriting credit for the album, though this was later disputed.

1. A New York-based Electronica / New Beat band, led by female singer Mitchel, who released the singles "Mind The Gap" and "One World" on Wax Trax! in 1989-90. Starless & Bible Black are a Manchester based new-folk band with a French Singer. Their self-title debut lp was released in October 2006. The band's name originates with a line from Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood, via a tune by British Jazz pianist Stan Tracey and a King Crimson lp title. The band's line-up is-

Cocosuma

Cocosuma is a electronica band from Paris. Their albums, published at Third Side Records have met both critical and public acclaim. Some of their tracks are picked for lounge or trip hop compilations. Cocosuma gained some fame in 2005 with the French mini-series Clara Sheller for which their song The Servant was the end credits. Finally, they've changed their mind.
After a debut album boldly entitled 'I refuse to grow up' which got them very impressive reviews...

Olivia Louvel

Olivia Louvel is a French-born British composer, producer and performer, crafting electronic songs from laptop and voice. Within a few bars you know you are in the world of Olivia Louvel, unique, minimal, weird and wonderful electronica with a human breath. Her musical ground zero was 2003 when she bought her first computer and started her digital compositions.Learning from scratch, she honed her production skills and made her debut with the release of “Luna Parc Hotel" in 2006. "Luna Parc Hotel" was released on Angelika Koehlermann run by Gerhard Potuznik.

Uh Huh Her

The Los Angeles-based Uh Huh Her is the brainchild of musician/actress Leisha Hailey, formerly of alt-pop band The Murmurs, later reformed as Gush, who had starred on Showtime's hit series The L Word, and Camila Grey, bassist and keyboardist with lo-fi rock band Mellowdrone, who has also worked with Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Kelly Osbourne and Adam Lambert. Introduced through mutual friends, Hailey and Grey began making music together at the beginning of 2007, writing the emotionally charged electro-pop tunes that make up their first EP I See Red.

India

There at least two artist by the name of India, one from the United States and one from the United Kingdom. 1) A highly-emotive approach to Latin music has led to Puerto Rico-born and Bronx, New York-raised La India (born: Linda Viera Caballero) being dubbed, "The Princess of Salsa." Her 1994 album, Dicen Que Soy, spent months on the Latin charts. While known for her Salsa recordings, India started out recording Freestyle w/ her debut album Breaking Night in 1990 as well as lending her vocals to many house classics.

Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono is a Japanese artist who is most widely known for her relationship with John Lennon of The Beatles. When Yoko first met John Lennon, she was an artist exhibiting in the UK. Working with artist group Fluxus throughout the 1960s, Ono dabbled in conceptual art and filmmaking - as well as music. Ono collaborated with experimental luminaries such as John Cage and jazz legend Ornette Coleman. In 1961, years before meeting Lennon, she had her first major public performance in a concert at the 258-seat Carnegie Recital Hall (not the larger "Main Hall").
