Artist Type:

Harvey Williams

Harvey Williams hails from Newlyn, just outside Penzance, at the western tip of Cornwall. He made his first recordings over ten years ago, using the pseudonym Another Sunny Day. Under this name he released half a dozen singles on Sarah Records - including two of the first ten releases on the label (one of these being the infamous and much misunderstood Anorak City flexidisc) - and picked up a couple of Single of the Week awards in the weekly music press along the way. All of these releases were later collected by Sarah onto the best-selling London Weekend compilation.

Artist Type:

Randy Newman

Randy Newman writes mordant, ironic, concise songs with chromatic twists worthy of George Gershwin and Kurt Weill. He sings in a deep drawl and accompanies himself on piano (Fats Domino was an early hero) and often tours alone. Newman tends to write lyrics about characters usually bordering on the pathological: bigots, perverts, slaveship captains, ELO fans. While this practice tends to limit his pop appeal, a few of his songs have been widely covered, and he has a solid cult following.

Artist Type:

Ezra Furman

Ezra Furman is a singer and songwriter from Chicago, IL. It is difficult to peg him as part of a single musical genre because he loves to experiment with different styles of songwriting. Suffice it to say that Ezra makes up songs and plays them on his acoustic guitar with ferocious energy and gut wrenching sincerity. His music is derivative of, but never completely part of, a number of musical genres: rock, blues, punk, folk and pop are some prime examples.

Artist Type:

Lindsey Buckingham

Rolling Stone magazine has described Lindsey Buckingham as "one of the most undervalued visionaries in rock". Buckingham is arguably the principal creative force behind Fleetwood Mac. He is not only one of the main singer/songwriters, but also producer, leading them on an unusual journey from the commercial heights of 1977's Rumours (still among the biggest-selling albums ever) to the quirkily experimental double album Tusk in 1979.
