Picture Books in Winter

Picture Books in Winter formed in Cardiff in October 2007. They make indie-pop music using guitars, a violin and occasionally a cello. The 5 members of Picture Books in Winter met each other while at university in Cardiff. All 5 members had spent time making music together in the past but it wasn't until autumn of 2007 that they decided to form a band properly and turn the ideas they'd been playing with into actual songs. In October of that year the band recorded their first set of demo recordings which attracted the attention Radio 1 DJ Bethan Elfyn.

Del Amitri

Del Amitri are a Pop-rock guitar band, formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1980. The name was chosen deliberately because it didn't mean anything but sounded a bit like someone's name - early Del Amitri did not want to be classified and their existence was kept secret from the rest of the school.
