The Genie
There are 2 bands with the name 'The Genie'. There are even more bands with just the name 'Genie'. 1. The Genie is a band from San Francisco, California which coined the term 'scratch guitar' as a genre of music. They released an album called "Rebel Music" in 2004. 2. The Genie is also a band formed in 2003 from Melbourne, Australia made up of three members of The Cat Empire - Ollie McGill, Ryan Monro and Will Hull-Brown.
Larry Willis
Lawrence Elliott Willis (born December 20, 1940 in New York, NY) is an American jazz pianist and composer. He has performed in a wide range of styles, including jazz fusion and rock. After his first year studying music theory at the Manhattan School of Music he began performing regularly with Jackie McLean. After he graduated he made his first jazz recording, McLean's Right Now!, which featured two of Willis' compositions.
Masaaki Suzuki
Masaaki Suzuki is an organist, harpsichordist and conductor, and the founder and musical director of the Bach Collegium Japan. He was born in Kobe to parents who were both Christian and amateur musicians. He studied composition and organ at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and was later taught harpsichord and organ by Ton Koopman and Piet Kee at the Sweelink Conservatory in Holland. In 1993 he began teaching at Kobe University, and founded the Bach Collegium in 1990. The group began giving concerts regularly in 1992, and made its first recordings three years later.
