Diving Bell

[1] Diving Bell is a prominent 'garage prog' trio from Bristol, England. "Diving Bell are a perfect example of how the lo-fi, guitar orientated Bristol-scene is currently in a grimy rennaissance. The hegemony of the guitar might have been temporarily overthrown in the rest of the UK, but here in Bristol the guitar is, and always has been, noisily thriving. Diving Bell exemplify how healthy and forward-thinking this micro-scene really is."

Gryphon

Gryphon were a British progressive rock band of the 1970s, notable for their unusual sound and instrumentation. Multi-instrumentalist Richard Harvey and his fellow Royal Academy of Music graduate Brian Gulland, a woodwind player, began the group as an all-acoustic ensemble that mixed traditional English folk music with medieval and Renaissance influences. After their self-titled debut, they expanded their sound to include electric guitars and keyboards as well as wind instruments, such as bassoons and crumhorns, not often found in rock music.

Artist Type:

Dead Empires

While the band is instrumental, they choose not to label themselves as such- the sound is ever-evolving, and they’d prefer to put out music that is organic, natural, passionate- rather than stick to a particular genre. The band likes to combine a wide range of influences to produce a sound that sways from epic, ethereal soundscapes to heavy post-rock riffs, rounded out with good old fashioned sludgy heaviness.

Artist Type:

Twelves Trio

Riaan Vosloo, Mark Hanslip & Tim Giles are Twelves Trio. They have recently been joined by Rob Uptergraff on guitar, thus rendering their name a tautology. They are therefore thinking of changing their name to just "The Twelves" for the purpose of clarity - any thoughts on this important matter will be gratefully received. An new acoustic album is to be recorded in May, which is sure to be to a great success. An electronic album is also in the works, more details soon.
