Hawkwind

One of the earliest pioneers of electronic music, Hawkwind started in the late 60's as a psychedelic/space rock band. Their trademark sound was formed from washes of distorted noise produced by audio generators coupled with intricate bass rhythms and jagged guitar riffs. The band maintained a successful following through the period of punk and new wave, and were cited by Joy Division bassist Peter Hook as an early influence.

1. Band from Stockholm, Sweden.
2. 90s Straight Edge Hardcore band from Pennsylvania, USA. Members went on to form Stillwater and Atari.
3. Band from Australia (1992 - 1995) that appeared on the Summershine label. 1. Blindside is a / band from Stockholm. They formed in 1994 as "underFree" and kept that name for two years before releasing their debut EP in 1996.

Pegasus

Several groups by this name: 1. A new hardcore side project from Pennsylvania with members of Cold World, War Hungry, RZL DZL and the Rival Mob, in the vein of Leeway. www.myspace.com/pegasusisgrim 2. Khan

Khan reffers to three artists: (1) Khan was an English progressive rock band of the Canterbury Scene during 1971-1972. Formed by Steve Hillage, the initial line-up was Steve Hillage (guitar), Nick Greenwood (bass guitar), Dick Henningham (organ) and Pip Pyle (percussion). They recorded only a single album "Space Shanty" which was released in 1972. They disbanded in 1974. Steve Hillage went on to record "Fish Rising" which contains material that would have been done by Khan had they not broken up.

Sun Kil Moon

Sun Kil Moon is the current project of Mark Kozelek, best known for his previous band, Red House Painters. Sun Kil Moon sees Kozelek undertake all the writing, composing, singing and guitar playing accompanied by Tim Mooney and Anthony Koutsos (also an ex-member of RHP) on drums, and Geoff Stanfield on bass. The band is named after bantamweight boxer Moon Sung-Kil. Their debut album, Ghosts of the Great Highway, was written entirely by Kozelek, and released by Jetset Records in 2003.

Acoustic Strawbs

Acoustic Strawbs were formed by accident after Dave Cousins and Brian Willoughby (members of Strawbs) were booked to perform as a duo in Twickenham in 2000. Cousins damaged his wrist and Dave Lambert stepped in to cover while Cousins sang. The format was successful and tours were arranged. Brian Willoughby stepped down in 2004 to concentrate on his work with Cathryn Craig and he was replaced by Chas Cronk who added bass pedals and acoustic bass guitar as well as extra vocals and guitar to their first studio effort...

American Head Charge

American Head Charge, the Minneapolis-based band, which had its genesis when Cameron Heacock and Chad Hanks crossed paths in a Minnesota rehab facility in 1997, has up to now been known primarily for the radically dysfunctional behavior of the band members. "We were definitely out of control on our first tour, Ozzfest 2001," Mr. Banks admits. "It wasn't enough to just play our music; we also had to fire shotguns on stage and throw pigheads at the crowd.

Somehow I had tuned into the boy that I used to be, the passionate kid that I had left behind, and mysterious as that all was there was no denying how thrilled I was to be reconnecting with the energetic outlook and liberating values at the core of that distantly familiar character. Rapidly I then began considering what kind of songs could be created if I could immerse myself 'now' in engaging fully with that young ghost.
