France Jobin aka i8u (b. 1958) is a sound / installation / web artist residing in Montreal, Canada. i8u's audio art can be qualified as "sound-sculpture". It reveals powerful, opaque and complex sound environments where analog and digital meet. He has released several albums of minimalist folk. 2) Tomo is lead singer and guitar player of croatian ethno doom band S.O.M. 3)Tomo (Tomoyuki Ogata) Was one of the first guitarists in the japanese rock band X-Japan. Played in X during 1984-1985 and was in the band when X-Japan released their first single, "I'll kill you", in 1985.
Born in the English Midlands but now based in Glasgow, Scotland, guitarist Ben Reynolds has been a prominent player in and contributor to the United Kingdom's fertile underground psych/drone scene for many years.
A current member of the long-running and highly influential Ashtray Navigations, Reynolds appears on recordings by Vibracathedral Orchestra and Sunroof. He and is also active via his duo project Motor Ghost with Directing Hand, both with free-jazz drummer Alex Neilsen.
Scant Intone is the solo project of Canadian artist Constantine Katsiris dedicated to experiments in modern audio. The output varies from stark minimalism to densely complex textures, incorporating elements of field recordings, shortwave radio, raw data and digital sound synthesis. Focused on researching psychoacoustics, waveform anomalies and various audio phenomena discovered while exploring the frequency spectrum, his compositions are excursions in abstract electronic music with influences including ambient, lowercase, microsound, noise, glitch and drone.
Grouper is the artist name of Elizabeth (Liz) Harris from Portland, Oregon.
Her debut album, Way Their Crept, was released on the Free Porcupine Society label in 2005. This was followed a year later by ‘Wide’ on the same label. In 2007 she put out a brilliant limited edition LP ‘Cover The Windows And Walls’ (on Root Strata) . Now her third ‘official’ full length album on Type Records is out – charmingly entitled ‘Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill’ .
Blindead was founded in Gdynia, Poland in 1999 by Michal Zimorski (Zima) - bass and Mateusz Smierzchalski (Havoc) - guitar. Few months later, Marek Zielinski (Deadman) - guitar, Konrad Ciesielski - drums and Patryk Adamczyk - vocals, joined the band. It was a casual project made for pleasure rather than a professional band. Besides, in the same time, Havoc became the guitarist of Behemoth and it was his priority.
